Italians b**ch a lot! Get over it! I hope they get knocked out of the tournament.
 I always knew that people all over the world hate us for many reasons (that nobody say) and consider us just pizza-men, spaghetti-man, mafia-men, rude-men... but I didn't know that the hate was so big. I guess some italian came to your nation and stole your car...

Anyway unfortunately for you we won't be knocked out of the tournament

PS But if we will, I'll shut up my mouth forever

No you won't. And you shouldn't have to.

I live in Germany and I agree that there seems to be an over-inflated hatred of Italy.

I don't understand it. Perhaps you take too many of their women. :D

you don't have to shut up. defeat is part of the game. you win some, you lose some. and btw in Romania there is no hatred towards the italians. i can say there is simpaty because we are both latin countries with very similar languages (i don't know italian but if i hear one speaking i can understand 90% of what he's saying)

Zzzzz, Italy brought everyone forward to score, it was more sh,tty defense than a country's commitment to please or displease fans

Maybe you should watch the game, Dutch dove about 15 times in this game. Just think it's funny how Italy always gets the bad rap for that kind of stuff but everyone just whistles the other way when it's any other team in Europe.

Great game by Neth, took advantage and deserved the win

Who's saying anything about diving?

Great way to incriminate yourself son :D

Exactly what it comes down to. Any team would be aggrieved by that call if it happened to them, which is for all practical terms the definition of "unfair."

Except when it happens to the kings of cheat, in which case it is the definition of justice.

Please do not make me spoon up examples like Italy's 94th minute penalty against the Aussies.

No remorse whatsoever for the Italians. 3-0, suck it. Win some, lose some ;)

Speaking for myself the hatred for Italy has nothing to do with the team, or the diving. It is about the arrogance of their fans, anyone who has been around them long enough can attest to that.
When Portugal for example, win a game they celebrate with opposing fans and they all have a good time. With Italy it's completely the opposite.
When your learn a little bit of respect for others, you'll get some back.

Well, after sleeping on it (best night’s sleep I’ve had in a while), the following thoughts resound in my head.

The 1-0 was not undeserved (saying it was deserved would indicate a strong dominance from Oranje, which was not the case), but lucky. The call was correct, but still lucky – many refs would have called offside, if only because many refs tend to give advantage to the defender. But there is zero doubt that the correct call was made. You crash into your goalie, pass the backline and all of a sudden you’re out of play? Don’t think so.

The 2-0 was a piece of art, from Gio’s clearance, to his run, his oversight, his wonderful pass, Kuijt’s header, Sneijders’s run and his excellent finish. The kid’s a killer, but we already knew that.

Throughout the game, Oranje played as a team. I had hoped that this Oranje would show manifest itself as they did last night. Pherhaps not as dominant and attacking as earlier, but much more sturdy, business-like and dangerous on the break. Which is what gave us the 3-0.

We’re not in the quarterfinals yet, but anyone trying to explain this by grasping back at our horrendous qualifying campaign is missing a major point: This Oranje is a completely different team, with (new) people in different positions.

As it is, we hold the best cards to take first place in this group. The question is not if the Dutch will be able to repeat last night’s trick. The question is wether France can muster the mental and physical strength to bring this Dutch team to it’s knees.

They may, but they will be losing more sleep over it than us. France is in a tight spot, basically needing a win against us.

About Italy...I don’t like them in general, and I loathe their football fans. Can’t stand the sight of them, with their big mouths and their ‘big man’ attitudes. When push comes to shove, they’re all a bunch of momma’s boys.

But football would not be the same without them I guess, and they have a long and rich tradition both on and off the field. So I respect them marginally ;)

What a goal:eek:

I rate it higher than Podolski's second because of the tight angle.

A true Wesley Sneijder goal. A small man, but he puts every inch of his small posture into shots like these. Wow indeed!

......and I hope Portugal get knocked out too.

Now we are even.

Portuguese sure do a lot of talking for a team that has never won a major tournament in their lives !!!

What does Portugal have to celebrate ????

They have NEVER won a tournament in their lives !!!!

....anyway Celebrating with Brazilians is not celebrating with opposing fans. It is jumping on someone else's bandwagon.

Funny stuff

Depending on the result of the next game, either Romania or Italy will join Holland in progressing. France created absolutely nothing against Romania. I can't see them beat the Dutch. They'll be in a situation where they have to beat the Italians in the last game to stand a chance, you don't want to face the Italians in a do or die situation, ever.

I can't agree that Netherlands are already in the quarters and France have no chance. Player for player France have the superior talent by some distance in just about every outfield position. Tactically they were poor against Romania, although Romania are difficult to break down and handled the Dutch without a problem in qualifying.

I expect France to come out firing in the next game, while it will be difficult for Netherlands to maintain the same effort from this game with such a short period to the next one.

Great win for the Netherlands but Italy were made for them with such a slow team.

Holland did not play any "beautiful attacking football".

Holland were continually pushing 6,7,8 men up into the final third - even AFTER their THIRD goal. How is this not attacking? Most teams would've left at least 10 men behind the ball at all times.

Their attack might not have been as direct as Germany (historically they prefer playing a possession game) but they certainly didn't decide at any point to sit back and defend a 1-0, 2-0, or even 3-0 lead; instead they continually pressed for more chances - even if that meant allowing Italy more chances to get back into the game.
