This thread can be used for listing any news (confirmed or otherwise) as to who will be called in for the camp this week and to face Barbados in the H/A World Cup Qualifiers.

I'd imagine the team will begin gathering for the camp as early as 6/9 or 6/10.

Both will be available for next weekend's World Cup qualifying opener against Barbados at Home Depot Center. Bocanegra is certain to be named, Wolff not so certain. The status of the roster for that match could be announced at anytime this week.

looking back at the recently completed set of friendlies, here was that pool of players announced in mid-May.

I'd imagine a few more MLS (or other) guys will be called in (potentially) to this camp. Note, Drew Moor was not on the initial list, but he was a "last-minute" security addition (to the camp, but not to the gameday roster) right before the ARG friendly.

also note that guys like Spector and Feilhaber (and perhaps a few others) have picked up injuries and/or had surgeries recently that will keep them out of the camp for these qualifiers.

The only name we have to see is Landon's b/c we are about 35th in the World w/o him and in the 10-20 range with him. Also if he can't play every game Freddy must start in his place

I see a lot of people w/Altidore in their starting lineup for Barbados, but I don't know. I'm guessing his role will either be limited or non-existent in the first game, given he missed all three games and has some sort of injury (?). I understand him not making the Euro trips but not being healthy enough to make the squad last night, after all previous signs pointed to him playing a prominent role there, is worrisome. These games were the "dress rehearsals" for Barbados, and he didn't even camp with the team. So I can't see Bob just throwing him out there to start. Best case scenario, IMO -- second half sub on 6/15, start on 6/22. Worst case -- still injured, and not on the roster for either game.

DF: Cherundolo, Pearce, Hejduk, Onyewu, Bocanegra, DeMerit, Califf
MF: Adu, Dempsey, Beasley, Kljestan, Edu, Bradley, Mastroeni
FW: Ching, Johnson, Altidore, Donovan, Cooper

My alternates + possibly called into camp:
GK Keller
DF Marshall, Parkhurst, Orozco, Lewis, Moor
MF Rogers, Gaven, Clark, Holden, Alvarez
FW Jaqua, Findley, Davies

------Johnson----Donovan(C)------
--------------Adu-----------------
Beasley--------------------Dempsey
--------------Edu------------------
Pearce---------------------Cherundolo
------Bocanegra---Onyewu----------

Bench: Guzan, Califf, Hejduk, Mastroeni, Bradley, Kljestan, Altidore

We better win this game at least 5-0 and Johnson better score in this game or he's done.

I think you're one starter and one sub off from Bradley's:

------Johnson----Donovan(C)------
Beasley--------------------Dempsey
--------Bradley---- Edu------------------
Pearce---------------------Cherundolo
------Bocanegra---Onyewu----------
-------------Howard----------------

Bench: Guzan, Califf, Hejduk, Mastroeni, Adu, Kljestan, Lewis

No Altidore - resting/injury/transfer

I think if its not this then BB should be checked in for a brain MRI. Not because this is the best we can do, but because BB has been pretty predictable and consistent with the choice of players of formation.

The truth is, it probably makes absolutely no differnce what the lineup is since most of the players who are in contention can win that game.

The only thing that will make this game interesting is to use at least part of it to run out our midfield of the future

Bease Adu Donovan
-----Edu Bradley

one striker who is good at holding up the ball with their back to goal and passing, or making runs through (EJ, Cooper, Ching, Dempsey, etc), and the 4-man backline.

I actually see Ching starting, and if not that, at least on the bench. He is in form with Houston and, though I don't particularly like his game, more likely to put one in the net than Johnson. Add to that that he meshes better with Donovan than Johnson does. Unfortunately, that would probably mean that Kljestan loses his spot in the gameday squad, and that there is no way we will see Cooper or Rogers. However, expect all three to play this weekend for their club sides and then see significant minutes in leg two; hopefully, the result will be academic by that point.

Also, someone said something about Bradley wanting to stay on the good side of MLS coaches in one of these threads. That is now inconsequential. These are qualifiers. Too bad if you lose your top players. Talk to MLS, talk to CONCACAF about their scheduling process if you have a problem. IMO, there shouldn't be a week between these two legs. Play the first leg on Saturday, second leg on Wednesday, and MLS take a week off. But, oh well, MLS will probably never recognize that there is soccer going on outside of their own league.

I'd be very surprised if BB didn't start his son. I think he and Edu can make a very serviceable tandem in the middle, but I'd prefer to see FFA paired with the man from Toronto. Adu and Edu (or even Bradley) would tear the Barbados midfield up, and combining with Donovan and whoever BB decides to throw out there at the #9, they'd be lethal.

About EJ-- I can see Bradley giving him the start once again. Not that it's a stretch to believe, but here's why. I can see Bradley saying to EJ-- "hey, you've had to struggle against some of the world's best defenders, and I know it's been hard. Now, you've earned a chance at softer competition. Go get you some goals."

No Altidore - resting/injury/transfer I expect to see this lineup, even though i think it absolutely atrocious to run out a dual mid lineup against the mighty Barbados.

My guess would be that the list to be announced on "6/10" will be the larger "camp list."

the 18-man match-day "roster for the first qualifier" won't be known until the weekend, one would suppose.

My wish list for Barbados that I hope Bradley employs:

Kick the Bucket. It's Barbados for crying out loud. We do NOT need 2 defensive midfielders.
Have some guts. Start Adu. Ignore the age. Ignore the hype. Just look at current form. The kid has been one of the best players in recent games.
Have some guts. Bench your son. Both Mastro and Edu have looked better in recent games. Junior is clearly pressing.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. No Josh Wolff. I don't even want him on the bench!

I agree with this. Especially because he's been on his own up top against those defenders, or worse, with Wolff.

This is a really important game, I can't see Bradley taking a risk with Cooper or even Jozy. He'll want someone he has seen train and play the past few weeks, even if EJ isn't great.

I know this will never happen because Baby boy needs to start and because we are playing the world power house that is Barbados we need to Dmids but one can dream..... but I would like to see this. Also I would like to see Califf get the start to see if it was just a one off performance against Arg. I think this would be a good game to do it as the reality of the fact is I can not see Barbados putting up a huge fight in the back so goals should be had.

---------Ching---------Landon-----------

Beasley--------Adu---------Dempsey

---------------Mastro-----------------

---------------Howard-------------------

Subs: Boca Edu Hejduk Bradley Kljestan Lewis Guzan

I also would not mind seeing Lewis start on the left and move Beasly to the right to give dempsey a rest. I also would not mind Jay Demerit getting a run out.
