Imo bigsoccer has gone down the drain in popularity. I was around for euro2004, and there was much more posters here back then.

A significant number of the people who post here (not the majority, but a significant number all the same) are English. As we were too crap to qualify I suppose we don't have so much to say about it.

In english it's the most crowded and it's top quality, really.
But compared to some french forums (in french) it's far from getting as much audience... There's so much passions out there that it sometimes look like a chat instead of a forum.
I assume each country has its crowded forums in specific languages. Not the case in Sweden ?

There is no such thing as an unbiased forum.
And no, there really isn't another forum out there worth more than a steaming dog pile.
But that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

BBC's 606 forum is normally very good.

Biggest difference between BS 2004 and now is that so many team/nationality forums have not-soccer-related subfora, which keeps more regulars in the forum. The WC 2006 seemed rather tame, but in the Arsenal and Man Utd forums the WC discussion was rather lively. Movies, music and TV, along with the books forum, have been relatively dead for a couple of years now.

Maybe the parcipation is diluted somewhat. Almost all club forums on BigSoccer have their own Euro thread; so do country forums.
Just a thought.
I still prefer posting here in the Euro forum. And I notice each day more and more posters are drifting here. For example, the Netherlands-Italy thread reached 500+ posts. I think you'll see that continuing trend day-by-day before we're a week into the tournament.
To answer your question, I know that ESPN Soccer message boards were ridiculously active during the last world cup. [Self-edit.] Not so now.
