Watch who the ball bounces off of before getting to Guerrero.

Read the rulebook (http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/federation/laws%5fof%5fthe%5fgame%5f0708%5f10565.pdf)again. The last section on page 36 should clear up your confusion on the offside rule.

What does Poland have to do to advance into the quarterfinals?

Is the beer any good??

Ottakringer is not bad. Typical central european lager.

Win by more than two goals vs. Croatia (who will field a weakened team as group winners) and hope that Austria beats Germany, but not by more than 2 goals.

Are you kidding me, some people really think Poland got hosed? This quy was waaaaaaayyyyyyyy offside, and it was even a clear penalty for Ivan - but he is even to stupid too fall proper.

Prödl was "bear-hugged" all the way down, what else is this then a penalty.

If only Harnik could have some finish, this guy is so freaking quick, unfortunately the other attackers are absolutely out of form, and Hicke managed not to bring in Hoffer. :(

The fact that Vastic scored the goal has some historics aspects. 10 years ago he scored the equalizer at the WC against Chile - and guess what minute - correct 93rd.

Austria still has a chance against Germany, or to at least play spoilers. I don't think Austria will play dead, they played really well today too.

Thanks. I'll look for it when I'm in Innsbruck for Russia v. Sweden

Garics to start against Germany? IMO, the right side improved since the Croatia game.

Not sure if you'll be able to find it on tap that far west (it's from Vienna), but you should be able to find it in bottles.

Unless, of course, Vastic has already consumed all of the Ottakringer in Austria. :D

Hmmm...

Poland has 1 point.
If they defeat Croatia they'd have 4 points. That's the best they can do.

Germany has 4 points. A draw would put them past Poland.

Austria has 1 point.
If Austria defeats Germany, Austria and Germany would have 4 points along with Poland.

At this point, the results of matches among the three teams level on points is used as tiebreaker. Not goal difference.

Germany 2-0 Poland
Austria 1-1 Germany
Austria defeats Germany

Austria 4 points
Germany 3
Poland 1

You know what?
I think Poland are out of the tournament as we speak.

For sure, to play with a 3-man defense against Croatia was one of Hickes dumbest ideas ever (and he had lots of dumb ideas). He is way better than the alternatives - well the 2nd best isn't even at the Euro 2008. Korkmaz is gonna play again, his second fault against croatia.

Unfortunately Prödl saw his second yellow card - that will hurt us a lot, Hicke left the younger and better alternatives at home, but I guess Pogatetz will take one middle position and Gercaliu goes to the left side.

It smells like 1982.Not really. Seeing how only one or the other can qualify.

I really wanted Austria to win today however they just didn't seem to have that self belief and killer instinct to put the ball in the net. That being said Artur Boruc just oozes class, and i fully expect him to leave Celtic this summer.
