Well you know the real reason why Vastic is celebrating don't you?

I'm surprised all hell didn't break loose when they were trying to decide who to take the penalty. Must have drawn straws or something.

Just because Austria organize the competition doesn't mean you must rob Poland...

Again, how can you make this argument when a CLEARLY offside goal against Austria was allowed? The penalty call may have been soft, but it was technically a foul and an arguable call to make.

It really doesn't matter its not like Poland or Austria were going anywhere anyway.

But it wasn't only that, the freekick had to be retaken after what a Austrian Player pushing away a Polish Player.

No, I 'have the nerve' to be pissed at how so many of these contrived games are decided by the puppeteer refs. I'm shocked that you have no problem with it since you're precious Germany is basically a shoe-in now.

I may live here, but I'm not a Germany supporter. I like to see them do well, but if you look at the other forum, you'll see me calling them sore losers for all the bullshit excuses they are throwing up when Croatia just kicked their asses.

I am a fan of the game and I watch these tournaments as such.

Now, your complaining has no merit either. Your side benefited from a clearly offside goal and if the ref really wanted to screw Poland, he could have called a penalty on that Austrian striker diving on that breakaway right after halftime.

The penalty call was correct. There is no question about that. Had both teams not been so pathetic finishing there might be a reason to discuss.

However, as I said in my last message, if there was a match both teams deserved to lose, it was this one. I can't remember a match with such pathetic finishing in EC history.

Therefore, I think the draw is the fair result.

The penalty was right, my gosh, take chances with them heading in a goal, even I know that, don't tug on the guy, and the ref was watching after a bit of an altercation, you just have to jump higher, about a 10% chance Austria would get a header or rebound, what a boneheaded play...that said, Poland is still building for the future, unfortunate, but they haven't set the tournament on fire, though they aced the qualifiers very well.

Croatia doesn't have to worry about playing hard at all versus Poland, but who knows....

As I said, football fans are the most amazing species on the face of the earth. Fact and reality doesn't matter to most of the population..... ;)

I was pretty sure the whistle was blown before the kick was taken (maybe I'm wrong). If that's the case, the freekick is always going to be retaken.

Look at all this misplaced anger. How is Germany a shoo in, with a winner takes all match against a now confident home side? How would have Germany's advance been anymore difficult had Poland won? Using your logic, Germany's is sure to crush Austria regardless of the situation, so the result in the other match with Poland-Croatia wouldn't affect their advance. They'd get through with 6 points alongside with Croatia both ways. So please save me this misguided argument about this result making it easier for the Germans if anything, there is added pressure as they are playing the host with a whole lot to play for with a ton of enthusiastic support which ALWAYS makes a big difference in football. As for Poland somehow being robbed as many have mentioned before me their own goal was clearly offsides, so please do not be so selective in your referee criticism.

LOL! I'll edit my post... I guess if something happens to the bear, or it runs away they'll replace it. But what if Vastic likes weissbier... then they'll have to import one from the arctic?!

:D

I just watched the play again. The call was made just before the kick was taken, and to me, it looks like a lot of pushing from both teams (and not clearly one way or the other).

You're an IDIOT and always will be. Glory Fooking hunter. You have Germany as your team, what else could you say. Offsides? Watch who the ball bounces off of before getting to Guerrero. That english ******** better not show up in Poland in his lifetime. It wasn't just the PK call, watch the game again.

Yep anyone watching from a neutral perspective would be able to see that. Again the draw was the fair result and im looking forward to watch what should be a heated affair with Austria-Germany going at it in the last group match.

Boruc stood a good chance to even block the PK, but he faded the wrong direction and he saved Poland's bacon early in the game. So, I'm for Poland but it's like watching some subpar NHL teams in the playoffs like the Colorado Avalanche or Minnesota Wild versus the real good teams like the Redwings or San Jose Sharks, there is a difference in quality and these teams need to turn it up to show themselves to be of the same quality. Nothing to be ashamed of for Poland except one dumb play by the defender and I'd remember all of those spectacular saves Boruc made in the first twenty minutes, I'd never do that to a goalkeep and Boruc still had a good chance to make a play to block it but went the wrong way.

The Poland goal was offside. It makes no difference that the ball deflected off of the Austrian defender.

The Polish defenders should also not pull shirts and impede the Austrians about 20 seconds after the ref has told them not to do it.

Oh and I think you will find that Footyfan1 has Germany as his location and not his team.
