Seeing that replay again, I think he's offside.

Well offside, but the refs don't have replay.

The Austrians had enough chances up to that point anyhow. When you don't use them, you pay the price.

Absolutely.

Though to be fair, my first post that I thought it might have been offside was as it happened. When you see the keeper step up higher than the last attacker, that attacker is almost always going to be off. Remarkably, there were no defenders between him and the goal when the ball was played, much less two.

I think it could have been caught, but oh well.

even with the offsides goal, Austria should have 3-4 goals by now, they have only themselves to blame right now.

That's for sure.

Have you've heard announcers say "neither team deserves to lose this game?"

Well neither team deserves to win this game. They both had shameful first halves, Boruc excepted.

Austria really should have tried to get Mark Viduka to have come out of retirement. He could finish a couple of these chances.

They never give penalties for that stuff. I wish they would, but they never do.

I've said it once I'll say it again... the host nations have had NO LUCK in this tournament. Plain and simple. Usually host teams get all sorts of breaks but not this time. Austria have been undone by a penalty and an offside goal, while not getting any penalty calls their way... and also missing a plethora of chances that my grandmum could have put away.

undone by a penalty?

i think you mean the Ref was merciful, allowing the Austrians to finish the half (of the first game) with 11 men on the field

Good Show Macho, matching Boruc some on the other side.

Linesman was right there to see if the goal was offsides, so it may have been but both officials missed it then.

Maybe this guy will give Austria a surge. I don't sell these guys short.

After the last world cup, i know Poland fears a goal in AET, 90th minute stuff and this game has been way to close... they need another.
