Several years ago, Pognan, one of the teams in Poland filled their roster to have an almost all Brazil team: so it is not surprising they've got one on the National team..
Your talking about Pogon Szczecin , they play in like the fourth league now. Having brazilians doesnt mean anything, there are millions of them and they need to go somewhere, just take a look at the ukranian or russian leagues..

The penalty is debatable (although I think it's nice to punish the shirt pulling for a change), but the Polish goal was offside. Should be 0-0, or 1-0 to Austria.

Look at the photo that Gunning4Chelsea posted. What's more legit, the alleged foul on the Austrian player or the absolute streamrolling of the Polish defender off the ball? It was not legit, but it's time to move on....
To be honest, for about 25 minutes in the first half the Austrians played very well, and totally outplayed Poland, and if it hadn't been for Boruc's heroics the score going into the half could have been much different. Nevertheless, goalkeeping is a part of the game, and that Austrian advantage doesn't mean anything. Poland was much better for the remaining 65 minutes, but, too, was denied by much better than usual Macho.
Some guys seemed to forget that the momentum changer was a blatant offside-call - so if everybody gets robbed once - why complain in the first place.

It doesn't matter anyway if you do the math we are probably out

Re: Austria's "dubious" PK call: if there's to be any talk about biased referees/conspiracies, it certainly isn't Austria that pulled any strings to get the draw, for Poland's Guerrero was a metre offside.
That said, however much Austria blew three golden chances at taking the lead, a goal's only a goal if it goes in. The way I see it, the game's ending in a draw is the fairest/most justifiable result. After all, Austria's finishing was terrible, and Poland hardly created that much in the way of chances.
I only wish the 2nd half was half as exciting as the first half hour of the match.

I thought I'd post my two cents re: the match. Really there is no point blaming the ref on this one. We (I'm Polish if you couldn't guess by my name) were very lucky to sneak away with a point tbh. Our goal was offside and Austria's PK was technically legit. Also, I thought Austria deserved a pk early in the second half when Golanski brought an Austrian attacker down in the area.
The truth of the matter is we were terrible. If it werent for Boruc it would have ended 4-0 to Austria. No joke. Our players have minimal technical skill and absolutely no intelligence on or off the ball. I have seen every game and I dont think I am being harsh in saying we are the worst team in the tournament. The only outfield player we have who can cut it at this level is Brazilian and should not even be playing for us (another reason why we did not deserve a point, but perhaps a topic for another time).
Anyways, congrats to Austria, the better team.

Well put we are probably the worst team in Euro 2008 that still has a chance to qualify how ironic is that

Whether you're Polish or not is not relevant, although I'd eat my shorts if you were. Writing that Austria was "the better team" today, on the other hand, means that you are either blind and your guide dog confused the teams in explaining the game to you, or you are color blind and thought that Austria was wearing white and Poland red. Poland surely hasn't been great, but they are far from being the worst team in the tournament.

well actually only Group A and B played their 2nd games. Russia isn't doing good and Greece style of defense football is annoying, but today we should of won BUT it ended the way it ended. I don't know though when I look back at the qualifying rounds to get to Euro 2008 I think Poland played the best matches against Portugal

Germany has 3-2 goal differential
Poland has 1-3 goal differential
Austria has 1-2 goal differential
i don't know statiscally we are done........
We would have to beat Croatia and Austria would have to tie or beat Germany but then it's 4 points to Germany and the goals against us eliminate us. If Austria beats Germany Austria has 4 points and it doesn't look good for us either

Should be 0-0, or 1-0 to Austria.
thats what having a good goalkeeper is for... if we didn't have one, so be it, but we've got a pretty good one and it paid off

BS...but that's the board that we're on.
And, no, on the Poland goal Roger was not offside. The only video that I've seen is from a bad angle, but suddenly all these people that have only seen the game on the monitors (such as the "experts" on ESPN), feel that they have a better view from a bad angle on a tv screen than the AR who was right there....

offsides? learn the rules. It not off sides if the ball is kicked before the offensive player moves ahead. Dumb ass. Unlike the one the two Polish Germs scored against Poland.

i'm completely neutral on this. in fact if anything i'd side more towards Poland due to Artur but the Poland goal was clearly offside.
both teams caught a break on their goals at the end of the day.

Don't get so angry. And for your sake I won't hold you to your promise to eat your shorts. That can't be healthy. Regarding the game, Austria's 4 great chances in the first 30 minutes were far more potent then anything we could muster for the rest of the game. We had our fair share of posession but with the exception of a couple good chances off set pieces we didnt really do anything with it. Our team lacks any spark of creativity.
Anyways, I've watched every single game of these Euro's and from what I have seen so far we are the worst team. Too slow, horrendous defence (you can't argue with me there), and no spark in attack. But then again, maybe I do hold Poland up to a higher standard and cannot be objective about these things.
Regardless, a lot of the stuff I watched today and against Germany was pretty cringeworthy. Good enough (apparently) for qualification but, for the third time this decade, nowhere near good enough for the big show.

Saganowski wasn't trying to pass to Roger, he was shooting at the goal and the ball bounced off the defender's leg
