No, Germany has 3 points.
Start again...
Poland has 1 point.
If they defeat Croatia they'd have 4 points.
Germany has 3 points. A draw would put them level with Poland.
But since Germany defeated Poland, Germany would advance.
Austria has 1 point.
If Austria defeats Germany, Austria and Poland would have 4 points. Since they drew their encounter, goal difference involving all group matches would decide who advances.
Win by more than two goals vs. Croatia (who will field a weakened team as group winners) and hope that Austria beats Germany, but not by more than 2 goals.
Yeah, what he said. :p

I really wanted Austria to win today however they just didn't seem to have that self belief and killer instinct to put the ball in the net. That being said Artur Boruc just oozes class, and i fully expect him to leave Celtic this summer.
If it wasnt for Artur, austria would have easy 4 goals... what a joke

I'm surprised he didn't lose it completely as his defense were really awful at times.

Basically Poland needs to beat Croatia.. but even that does not guarantee a place in the QFs. If Germany wins or draws even vs. Austria... then they are through because Poland and Germany will both have 4 points but Germany will go through because they won the match between the two teams. If Austria and Poland beat Germany and Croatia respectively... they will be tied on goal difference. Austria has a better goal difference right now so Poland needs to win by one goal more than Austria does. If they do achieve this and both Austria and Poland have exactly identical records - I have no idea what will happen then.

it would be Poland cause they scored more goals.
e.g.: 4:3 wins over 3:2

If Poland wins by two goals and Austria by one (but score same amount of goals eg: 2-0 and 2-1), it will go to...
"coefficient from the qualifying competitions for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2006/08 European Championships (points obtained divided by number of matches played)"

I knew this but Austria did not play in the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.. so I guess they will just use their average points from WC2006 with polands' from 2006 & 2008. I guess Poland will have the advantage.
BTW.. Austria and Poland were in the same qualifying group for WC2006 & Poland came out on top.

Correct. If goes to the coefficient, it would be Poland 2.16 points/game (52 points in 24 games) compared to Austria with 1.5 points per game (15 points in 10 games).

Thats only if they play each other in the final game. Poland and Austria don't. However, Czech Republic and Turkey do. If they draw Sunday in Group A, it will go to KFTPM.

We were robbed big time, I wish that we just went home now as a protest against a fixed match. I hope that the Polish fed has enough balls to do that, but of course they do not....

Geez, I understand it's sport and it's emotional but get a grip. You were gifted a goal and you had a correct PK called against you.
Once again, how does that add up to "robbed", nevermind "robbed big time"?

robbed big time .... The ref decided the result and not the players .... Whoever said that the austrian player was bear hugged is a moron.... The ref called 25 fouls on Poland and 13 on Austria..... Big disparity.... Not because Poland was more agressive but because the ref kept giving the austrians the benefit of doubt.... Austrians should have received 3 yellows for blatant diving.... And the re-take of the extratime freekick should have never happened.... Players push each other all the time!!!! If you are going to call a foul on that then do it consistently.... Calling a pk in the last minutes is bush league..... Absolute travesty.....we were robbed big time

Thinking about it...I think its better for Poland that they tied...this gives Austria an incentive to whip Germany...if Austria lost they would play with no passion next game...and we need Germany to lose.
