Exactly, the modern game makes it very difficult to play fluid attacking football nowadays and succeed at the highest level. Teams play with caution now than ever and the game has become more compact. I like Klinsmann's and Loew's spirit in trying to play the beautiful game so freely but you have to keep in mind the tactical circumstances of today's game.

Well, missing a tackle is always possible, but Wörns' red card in that game was more than that. That was just stupid.

David Odonkor = shit.

Yeah that is what us Beticos have been saying about him since he joined the team a while back!! He runs like a gazelle but always loses the ball. From what I read he's been told that if he can find a team willing to take him that Betis will approve the transfer since he has no future with the club.

Congratulations Croatia on a deserved victory! That was a bitter pill to swallow for us, but it might yet prove to be good medicine. I expect to see a much better performance from our team in the next game(s). :)

He was quite fortunate to even get a spot on the NT two years ago and now we just lack experience on the wings. Since '06 he has survived fading into obscurity because of his "pace" and his few cameos at the WC.

We wondered what kind of drugs your management was on to give us 6M Euros for him.

BVB couldn't make that deal fast enough.

I don't think he's "shit", but in the context that Betis paid 6M for him, yes, I guess he is.

I mean everybody's talking about how germany didn't do this and didn't do that...Howsome German players played bad. I think this is silly. Croats played great and that caused everything else. Great change of tactics by Bilic before the game showed that he has balls of steel to do that.

I don't know from who to start? Modric who was at his best and was awarded a man of the match performance, Pranjic who defended left flank in great manor but especially how he attacked and assisted to Srna. Corluka? Remember how he ran the whole field even pass Lahm (I think it was him) and passed a great ball where Kranjcar fired a volley. Olic is really something special, a player with a huge heart. Srna the goalscorer? R. Kovac and Simunic were perfect also. Pletikosa didn't have a lot to do but the way he throws the ball to start a couter attack is just a great +...Who else? Kranjcar was a player who ran the most in the first half and was great as an attacking midfielder.

These are the reasons why Germany lost and I'm really tired of listening how Low is bad and Klose is static etc. etc. just as I was tired of reading the comments before the game where Germany wins 4-0, cheers.

That's pretty much right on FR. He also crosses better than most other German wings. But that's all he can do.

Even though, he did do "OK" at right back yesterday.

I'll tell you who he reminds me of. Delron Buckley.

And if Buckley stays with us (Dortmund), you may see him switched to left back.

Just as I think Odonkor's future in football is as a right back.

David Odonkor = shit.

I agree that he did not have a good game at all, but please mind your language.
He's part of our team and you shouldn't decry him like that.

Dude, I know what you mean. Tactics and coach and such things are poor excuses. The fact is that germany played reasonably well but were lethargic for one reason or other and were not sharp enough when it mattered in buildup and finishing. Croatia were. Simple as that. I won't say Croatia "outplayed" Germany as they won the game through denial of space than through keeping possession and outpassing, but Croatia certainly were more focused and did what they had to do to win.

In short, several Croatian players would get into the Germany team. ;)
