I think it's too early to be thinking about winners/losers yet.

losers:
Gomez
Simao
Materazzi
If you mean Gomes, I agree with you. But Simao has been pretty good so far. He is not supposed to be the type of player that Ronaldo is...he is more like Nani in the role he plays.

true, simao's role is not like ronaldo's but he performed poorly for his role on the team. i think he will improve since he is a quality player but so far he has not played that well and his free kicks have been below par (it's funny watching him and ronaldo argue for who takes the free kicks)

Leko has to be a loser after his blatant display of cheating.

Getting smacked in the face is called cheating this days? You are pathetic mate.

This thread is about game by game. Some players redempted themselves.

Last night

Winners:
Mutu

Losers:
Mutu :)

Aint that the truth. Mutu destroyed that game for them. And I'm not just talking about the missed penalty...in the second half alone I counted 5 situations where he tried to take on Italy's defense all by himself with an easy pass waiting for him to either side, and he gave it away every single time.

Brilliant player...but he is not a god by any stretch, and that was damn immature of him.

The problem is that he didn't touch his face. The contact was made with his chest and the reaction was completely unjustified. Rivaldo was ridiculed in 2002 for something similar.

Luca Toni - Striker - Italy
Although Luca Toni hasn't scored yet, I think he is far to be considered a failed player until now in the tournament.

Toni scored a pretty goal against Romania. Not his fault the ref denied it

Toni has been OK.

It hurts to say it, but Gomez shouldn't get off the bench the rest of this tournament.

I think we can officially say he had a poor tournament now.

He played excellent today. I don't know where you were looking for the whole game.

No way, he was awful for his standard. Nani looked a lot more sharp.

Left back Hakan Balta has looked really solid so far. I also liked what i saw from Ivan Rakitic.
