Poland played well

Agree.

a little better than the Germans actually.

But only for 10 minutes before and 15-20 minutes after the interval.

It will be
Germany - 9
Poland - 6
Croatia 4
Austria - 0

Poland 0 : 2 {EDIT}

Good game. Poland played well, a little better than the Germans actually.
But just could score, or actually did through Smolarek but it was wrongly called offside.
What can you say, better team doesn't always win. The curse of Poland, can never beat Germany.
1. Your points allocation is not possible.
2. Poland did NOT play better than Germany.

Croatia 3
Austria 0

I have a question......
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the tie-breakers are goal differential followed by head-to-head. What are the next tie-breakers if teams are still tied...?

Number of goals scored, then penalty shootout (used to be drawing lots/coin toss).

No problem. For what its worth, I think that Poland has a good chance of comming in 2nd in our group. As long as the team does not lose heart after falling against Germany they will go through.

Thanks for the good wishes. I will also be cheering for Germany from this point on, obviously. I hope Germany puts the boot to Croatia, 3-0 maybe......:D (I can be opimistic, can't I?)

Of course! I will be rooting for Poland to get out of the group stages and hopefully we can do you a favor by thrashing Croatia and Austria.

Yeah, I'm not sure I get why they do the A v B, B v A, winners play the semi-final thing.

If anything wouldn't you want to avoid rematches?

I read UEFA considers it best to make sure all teams get equal rest.

I can't say I like the system.

I think it was to avoid group teams meeting in the final like in 96. Still, the odds are less for that to occure than a re-encounter in the semi's with this system so I am not 100% sure.

W:eek:w! Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth! The guy awards the most blatantly offside goal of the tournament to you give him this in return. LOL
