Still in the GA pool, too, which explains his staggering $136,500 salary for the 2008 season. I sure hope he has been investing well because he is headed to $17,700 as soon as he is non-GA.

More like headed to the USL, I'd think.

Nick's career path will become more common as MLS expands its youth program. Consider that only 1/4th to 1/3rd of top 17-year old prospects worldwide pan out as first division pros. Nick just happened to be in the other 75%. It's no different than the Lee Nguyen story.

So we shouldn't lament or gloat. It's a fairly normal price to pay to develop youth talent.

Who would guess that eventually MLS will waste more money on him than on the coach who signed him?

I thought Lee Nguyen was actually playing for his club...did he stop getting playing time? I admit I haven't been paying much attention.

Nguyen was playing regularly for Randers FC, but the Danish league is fall-to-spring.

Still, being an average performer for a midtable side in Denmark is a big step down from PSV.
