And players!!
Apparently both Zeshan Rehman (centre-back) and Daniel Nardiello (striker) were at Bloomfield Road tonight ahead of them signing tomorrow.
Rehman is apparently due to sign on loan until 1 January 2009 and Nardiello permanently.
It is also being rumoured tonight that the Paul Dickov deal is off, even though he shook hands on it last week. It would seem maybe that Simon Grayson has had enough of "waiting for Dickov" and will presumably end up looking elsewhere. I would like to see him go for Joseph Desire-Job who he did confirm they were looking at a few weeks ago and maybe they might now go back in for him. Of course this is Blackpool and we will probably get someone else in.

Today we have -
Speculation in the Blackpool Gazette that Simon Grayson is still working hard to bring in David Vaughan from Real Sociedad and Martin Devaney from Barnsley and that he has at least two other targets with them both supposedly being current Premier League players, one would be a permanent move and the other a long term loan.

Club secretary Matt Williams was interviewed on BBC Radio Lancashire this evening following the signing of Daniel Nardiello and Zesh Rehman.
To add to the "players, players, players" theme he apparently said that
Another player should be signing tomorrow, as the deal has gone through. A bid for another player has been accepted and an offer for a player, who they met with yesterday and who has gone away to think about it. And he said that this player "would be a great signing" - so no doubt he will turn us down then!!
So we already have nine new players and by next week we might have another three maybe more!

Blackpool Gazette reckon that David Vaughan is all but signed, the deal is sorted with Real Sociedad and he has agreed terms, just awaiting clearance now. They also reckon we are after Wolves defender Rob Edwards and that we are still after midfielder Chris Taylor from Oldham Athletic.
BBC Radio Lancashire though reckon that both Vaughan and Taylor are about to sign, which it it does happen would make for a very decent midfield.

David Vaughan has just been officially announced as Blackpool's tenth summer signing. He has signed from Read Sociedad for £200,000 on a two year deal and the club are now hoping that international clearance will come through in time for him to play on Saturday. Vaughan, a Welsh international, is a left-sided midfielder.

May as well post this in here, as the pre-season comes to an end - speculation this afternoon that Andy Morrell will be leaving Blackpool in the next 24 hours. Apparently Simon Grayson has said on Radio Lancashire that Morrell has a few options, presumably League One clubs.
