Everybody knows what happened (France 2 - Brazil 1)
Everybody was not asking whos going to win everybody was asking how many is Brazil going to win by.
In your opinion, was it a BRIBE or NOT?

The only way it could have been a bribe was if the ENTIRE Brazillian team was in on it. France dominated, their defense completely shut down the Brazilian offense, and if France had any semi-decent strikers they would have scored 5 at least.

'when I came to this thread I thought you might be talking about Ronaldo starting this match, as it was claimed by many that Nike had a $ignificant interest in him starting the match...and roberto carlos also said he was throwing up and having some kind of "seizure illness"
other than that, I doubt bribe took place, France just dominated them that match...Brazil didn't show up

No bribe. France was the better team that day. Ronaldo did have a problem, but the entire squad was a shadow of the team that had played a memorable match vs. the Netherlands.
BTW Ronaldinho11, where are you from? (if you are Brazilian I'd be shocked that you would write 2-1... I wish it had been 2-1, not 3-0 LOL)

Im not Brazilian Im Hondurian, I watched the WC '98 Finals live and I have no idea were my mind was when I did this thread its never happenned before....lol.....First I put 2-1 then I corrected myself and put 2-0 then my super polite bigsoccer buddies corrected me and said 3-0 I have no idea what was going through my mind.

There was indeed le attempted bribe in le 1998 final, le Brasilians bribed us to not score even more les goals against their le pathetic team than we already did.
We did not le take the bribe, but we le stopped scoring more goals anyway, because we le felt pity for these le losers.

First rule of trolling: Get your facts straight. 3-0 was the score.
Even if Ronaldo was bribed, it still shouldn't have been 3-0, unless the whole team was in on it.
France simply rose to the occasion, while Brazil came off flat. $#!t happens.
And whatever, in 2002, France was the favorite, got knocked out in rd. 1, and Brazil won the whole thing. No one wins them all, and things are never predictable.
