premiership numbering material rubber or felt

hey i just got the arsenal kit from the past season from uksoccershop and i noticed that the new numbering is rubber plastic like not the usual velvelt felt like material used in past seasons. is this authentic? i am thinking of returning my kit if its not. ive tried finding some close up pics but the only ones i could find still have me question what material is really on the players' kits.
