you're right. according to the stats France should win, but that doesn't mean it will be true. this euro hasn't had any surprises until now...maybe it's time for one. :)

Romania finished ahead of Holland in qualifying. According to stats, they should do reasonably well, but I have a feeling that France is really going to get into the gear this tournament. They've been pretty underwhelming in qualifying and in the friendlies leading up to this tournament, so I really feel they are due a big game or series of games.

I feel if that if there are any surprises, it will be in Spain's group (but then again, it wouldn't really be a surprise would it? :D)

Good luck in the game though.

Romania will be playing withour pressure after the draw. No one expects them to get out this group. I think they will win a game this tournament, but against who?

I don't know much about the Romanian team. Heard they beat Nederlands twice in qualifyin though.

Not rooting for anyone; just watching for the fun of it. Now entertain me. :)

Mutu's already going in hard. I wonder if that's their strategy against France. Might be combustible.

If the French continue playing so without scoring, they will be in lack of condition in the second half, and Mutu will exploit this. Until now it looks like this is the tactic of Romania. They should be happy about Henry absence, Anelka is not looking confident. But again, a French goal can change everything.

Really nothing to speak of so far.
Although I thought the handball booking was harsh because on the live angle Niculae indeed looked like he was pushed as he claimed.

It's amazing how the French players seem able to catch the ball with their feet: they are certainly good at that.

2 very good teams here.

Yellow card for Contra, for kicking the ball away.

Such yellow cards are bad because with two, well, they might end up missing a game....let alone 2 yellows and you are out.

Cosmin Contra booked for delaying the restart of play.

Cosmin Contra booked for delaying the restart of play.

Right after that on a play along the sideline, did it look to anyone else that Makelele was chastising Abidal for not playing tough enough??

France must lead the world in level of talent-not playing up to that talent ratio. It's like watching paint dry.

Missed it, unfortunately.

Here's to a better 2nd half.

Both teams look average so far, maybe trying to be conservative, expected more from France though

Refs a little too easy to reach the pocket imo
