Yeah, I think we really have a chance to win and I'm pretty confident that Piturca found the right tactics against the French. I predict a 2-1 for Romania, goals by Mutu and M.Niculae.

I have us with a 1-1. Losing here really isn't an option for us. A loss would put us in a must win state and playing Italy is horrible with that mentality.

Thanks for the correction. I honestly did not catch that for I left the country before the Comunist reign ended.
We will win.A draw would put us in a precarious situation with the italians coming up.Again, a lot of folks seem to underestimate the dutch , due to their somewhat subpar (for them!?!) performance in the qualifiers.I really think they will be more trouble than the french.

Apparently our team for the France game will be:

Lobont
Contra - Tamas - Goian - Rat
Radoi - Chivu
Nicolita - Cocis - Mutu
D. Niculae

I really hope Cocis will have a better game than the Montenegro one, where he was damn near invisible, and his position is very important in the tactical system thought out by Piturca... Other than that, it's a solid selection, based around the same principles that brought us 4/6 points against Netherlands.

That might end up being a good decision, considering that our game will probably look like defending and counterattack, in all 3 games. I'm not sure the team can handle Ribery. I think Mutu's latest events in his personal life will have a negative impact on his game. Chivu is not 100% physically, for a long time.

yes Ribery and Benzema will be the most dangerous players for us. I believe Mutu and Chivu will be fine, but we also have other valuable players. this will be our advantage maybe. everybody speaks only about Mutu and Chivu but there is also Goian, D Niculae, Contra etc
i hope we will make the first surprise at this euro.
