Why would I lie about being Romanian? I'm not, doesn't make me any less of a supporter. O, btw how many times have you traveled to support Holland?
I was born and raised in Bussum, Holland
(can scan my Dutch passport if you'd like).

Didnt move to Canada till I was 16, have worked in Toronto on and off and go back usually once a year or bi-yearly.
I hold dual citizenship and I support both Holland and Canada's NT teams

Anymore questions???

See now that wasnt so hard.
Thats called a normal level-headed reply when someone asks you a question.

So you support both Canada and Holland but it's not possible for me to support the US and Romania? I see.

There's no need to make this anymore personal than it already is Amsteldam. We've had our disagreements before but to have you start accusing me of lying about my ethnicity is a little over the edge.

I don't see any reason why this discussion should continue.

Yea, it worked well for us in the qualifiers.

We're solid enough on the backline and his cutting passes into the final 3rd are needed.
So Chivu is used as a regista then for Romania? Like Pirlo is for Italy for instance. I can't see him as a fantasista or CAM tbh.

Correct. He also takes the set pieces for us just like Andrea.

In another thread you say you're not Romanian.
In this post you refer to Romania as "us"

So help me understand, if you're not Romanian (or of Romanian descent), then why do you use the word "us"?????

What does this have to do with the Romania vs France game?

My suggestion is for you to drop it and to stop taking this thread off topic.

Marica is a very good player, I watched him playing against Turkey in a friendly, he is very fast and dangerous in front.

Abidal or Evra? Who would you prefer? If I had a chance I would choose Evra on the left.. Abidal always seemed to be an average player to me.

Chivu is no Pirlo, but his vision, intelligence on the pitch and leadership are quite amazing. And also, he plays a primarily defensive role in the middle, not quite the coordinator role Pirlo has. That's why our team usually also has some more offensive midfielders like Dica or Cocis, helping to build the play in the center. And despite the fact I don't particularly like Dica (Steaua player, grr), I really do believe he would be a good choice in the middle, because somehow, no matter how poor his form might be, he always manages to score for the national.

yes Dica is a brilliant player and he also demonstrated a good form in the last friendly. he has a very similar profile with that of Mutu. with 2 creative players up front we would be great on the attack phase of the game.

but i must mention also his weakness. Dica is a slow player and i don't think he could do a well in a game against France ( probably a counter-attack game for us). i think Dica is a solution for the game with Italy. in this game Cocis should be in the starting line-up and Dica (depending on the situation) could enter in the 60 min or so.

in the atack it seems Piturca will us Mutu-D. Niculae. Niculae has a good speed and knows the french pretty well (he plays at Auxerre for those who don't know) so he might be a good solution. we will see...

abidal is much better in defense while evra is better at crossing and dribbling along the line; some even say that abidal is having the same carrier as thuram: starting as a WB and in time CD
according to me it will depend on the opposition: evra should start against Romania where we won't need as much defensive presence and abidal should take over for Netherlands and Italy
besides evra is in better form than abidal

Well, Mutu has just been told by FIFA he has to pay Chelsea 12 M Euros. I hope that won't affect his game.

P.S.: ToonUSA is indeed American, with no Romanian blood whatsoever. ;) It seems I have to defend him on every thread :D

P.S. 2: Match page -> uefa.com (http://en.euro2008.uefa.com/tournament/matches/match=300687/index.html).

I refer to them as us because I'm a fan and follow them very closely.

Why would I lie about being Romanian? I'm not, doesn't make me any less of a supporter.

It kind of does. How can you refer to them as "we" or "us" when it isn't even your nationality? Just saying...

I see him all the time on the Romania forum. He claims to be born to romanian parents in California, and recently claims all these high up connections in the FRF. While he does follow european soccer (and likes Mutu as more than just a football star), has absolutely no credibility when it comes to knowing what it's like to be Romanian, or have contact (face to face) with a real one.He sure tries hard to read like one, though real romanians can spot his american yellow tuki from miles away...:p

Again what does any of this have to do with Romania versus France?

Is it that hard for you people to keep this thread on topic?

It has everything to do with Romania. Not much with France...
Anyway, Romania really needs to come out and make a statement in this game. For the sake of my first country and staying positive, I predict a 3-1 Victory for "our" boys!Hai Romania!Daca credem si luptam, andeplinim.

P.S. I live in Michigan and the Wings (your avatar) just made me a happy man.I hope Romania's going to give me a reason to stay that way...

Yeah, I think we really have a chance to win and I'm pretty confident that Piturca found the right tactics against the French. I predict a 2-1 for Romania, goals by Mutu and M.Niculae.

Off-Topic:
Not having lived in Romania but having Romanian parents does mean you're Romanian. Certainly by blood. The previous discussion was really stupid and pointless. Leave personal questions for private messaging.

Romvert, you probably meant to say: "indeplinim" rather than "andeplinim", although this word does not really make sense in that sentence .

Go PENS! Crosby #1.

Hai Romania!

Link the post where I claimed to have Romanian parents. Not once have I ever claimed to be Romanian. There's no need for lies, especially in the game thread. Keep your petty stuff to the Romanian forum where we can at least keep an eye on you.
