What fact? If you're going to criticize, you shouldn't look like such a hypocrite. Answer my question, how's England doing in the EURO?

How is it a critcism to say Italy play defensive? Some plastic did the "welcome to 2008" gay post which ended up with egg on his face.

Italy do play defensive despite playing 4-3-3 and having Toni you arent exactly walloping teams are you, you are beating teams by small margins which is not a critcism idiot.

We arent in the euros if you cant see that for yourself but go daydream about the attacking football Italy allegedlly play

Well everyone knew before that group c will be the boringest group. I'm pretty sure we won't see more than 1-2 goals per game and nearly no chances.

I'm not overly familiar with the Romanian squad, but I must say defender Rat impressed me today. Very poised in the back.

yes he is a very good left defender from Shahtar Donetk. he plays in the national team for quite a while so he is well integrated in the team play. he had a wonderful intervention at Ribery in the second half. i hope he keeps this up. i also hope our midfield will pass better on the attack phase, although i can understand they were nervous today beeing their first euro.

with a better gameplay in attack who knows, maybe we can make a big surprise with Italy. :D

Er if im not mistaken theres something called Euro 2008 on. Unlike Italy our country still appreciates football that doesnt involve us rather than hound out players who knock their teams out the competitions, Hwang just in case you forgot who.

Oh and we dont fix matches :D

I hope so. I like cheering for underdogs, as I'm tired of seeing the same teams go to the semis of most major tournaments. It would be quite the surprise if Romania can make it out of this group. Good 1st result.

Good result for Romania. It was clear what the intention was after taking out Mutu, but it had to be done against a faster squad like France.

France looked lost up front, like I predicted a few days ago. France are going to have to rely on other team's results to get through, and their defense which is solid. I think the French are prob. rooting for Italy now, because Holland is an unfamiliar opponent and a little more attack minded due to par defense.

In 1990, the group with Ireland, Egypt, England and Holland had all draws but for one game.

It seems like we could see a lot of draws in this group.

That's happened at other world cups too.

Hey dude! I called that one already!

ITV has David Pleat as co-commentator. Oh joy

Sneider is a good player.

Old horse-face had a chance to go down and get a penalty but stayed on his feet... and that's not a sentence you get to type very often :D

Do you hear the commentator going out of his way to say CaMORanesi because Pleat keeps saying CaROMenasi

Well, just got home, seems i was right with my prediction, 0-0 :D

While the result is decent, I can't help but feel we're still prisoners to our "underdog" status. Bringing the first true offensive midfielder on '91 says alot about your attitude. Unfortunately you can't really hope to go on with just draws, so a bit more courage would be welcomed.

So, all in all, the game was about two teams that are great defensively, playing in a somewhat similar way, canceling each other out. With the Netherlands leading 2-0 at break, it's gonna be a totally different 2nd match, for all teams. We'll meet an offensive Italy, looking for a win, while Holland will find a victory-hungry France. This might be a plus for us, seeing how we'll be able to play our counterattack game against the italians, and a victory from the Netherlands in their game against France would mean they'd take the last game, against us, a bit easier prolly, to protect their main players from yellow cards / injuries.

Hai Romania!
