....if Vieira is ruled out for the entire tournament? I think one of Henry, Thuram and Gallas.

Or Makélélé. I'm hoping Vieira isn't ruled out, though. In any case, Henry got the armband against Paraguay, Thuram got it against Ecuador. Gallas was out injured during both matches, or else I'd think he'd be in the running, too.

Though I think Makelele's quality and importance are paramount for France, I don't believe that he's very vocal or a leader for all parts of the pitch. I'd love to see him become captain though because he is the man! His girlfriend is so hot too!

titi, kéké or tutu?
henry captain? there aren't 11 players in the 23 who would listen to him. i don't think he would be comfortable as captain anyway.
makelele would get more acceptance, but he just doesn't have the profile imo.
thuram? he would make a plausible président de la république! i think he's got skipper written all over him!

Its obviously going to be Thuram. I don't even know why we need this thread to be honest lol.

The one thing that bothers me a bit about Thuram's leadership is that he always appears kinda quiet. Of course, I'm not saying every leader has to be loud or bombastic, though I don't think Thuram is like Roy Keane/Vieira at all. It's not the only way to lead, although I think with this team, it'd be better to have a vocal guy than a quiet guy. After all, I think all the players could use a little fire underneath them right now.

Zidane was a quiet leader, and one of France's greatest captains.
So coax Zidane out of retirement and we have this problem solved. :D
