Just in time for us to see the Tuesday night US Open Cup match, the Atlanta Silverbacks will be playing the Puerto Rico Islanders in a USL1 match on Fox Soccer channel. The match starts at 7:00 p.m. CDT, so if you get cable, make sure you check this out. I get Time Warner (Central Texas) and it's carried there.

I don't know about you, but (if I had cable) I'd record it. Because I'm planning on being in Dragon Stadium Friday night around that time;)
I wonder if they re-run it afterwards. Or if someone can somehow record it, pick it up, and we can watch it after the game Friday night wherever we go to hang out afterwards.

Well...of course...obviously. That's what I get for looking "beyond the next match". Oh well, at least there'll be good TV on when I get home later that night after celebrating the win over El Paso (filed under the category "Self Fulfilling Prophecy"). :D

Ok looks like I'll be able to make my first Aztex match tomorrow. I'll be bringing the whole family too. So what have I missed so far?
VC is there a particular place you guys sit?

We need to root for Bradenton to beat Miami as well. Not just for the hypothetically easier match, but because we get another home game if we play Bradenton. If we play Miami, it's a road trip according to ussoccer.com.

Well, I sit in the booth. I'm doing stats.:)
I think mgrayscale, duality, two meter and some of the others are congregating somewhere. However, barbaro sits on the bottom row.
Hopefully they'll pop on here and answer your question. At the very least, I know they all wear red shirts to the games, so you should be able to pick them out.
Hopefully the drummers show up again tomorrow. It was nice to hear them.

SuperHoops and I have been sitting with the drummers (which I guess includes me as of last game) to assist getting chants and such started. We could always use more people with us to help sing, stomp feet, and make noise.
Otherwise, it seems people tend to just wander in and sit with whoever they find. I'll be the one with the red Founder's Club shirt and the small black tom drum.

Austin is currently in first place in our Mid South Division and having a better record (and playing better) than FC Dallas.

What duality said. :D
I'm going to be there 30 minutes before kickoff. It's up to you (Jonno) and Heather to where ya'll want to sit so that the twins are comfortable. If you want to sit with the drummers, I hope they like the music just as much as one kid did last Friday. Hopefully the twins won't cry or get scared just like that kid did when the crowds cheered loudly after the Aztex scored. ;)

I'll be sitting up in the middle section, towards the top (season ticket section). Many reasons...
You're in the shade so those of us with the fairer skin don't worry about looking like Clint Eastwood by the time we're 40.
There's more space, and typically, people there are really interested in the match instead of just a family outing (nothing wrong with the latter, I just find that it comes with many "up and down" runs to concession, bouncy castle, etc.).
You get a great view of the entire field, including the soccer lines, which I find hard to see lower down.
You get better breezes up there, so it's only 101 instead of 120.
Although I and other do yell a lot (as evidence by my loss of voice for the DFW road game), it's clean language.
I will be in my normal game day outfit; camo shorts, Aztex top, and a black Adidas visor. It's what I've worn to every match, and so far, every match I've seen has been a win (the only one's I haven't seen live were El Paso and Mississippi away).
BTW, from what I saw, keep your eyes on Rios and Kandji in front, and Bobo in back. They're pretty good from what I saw on the USL1 match Friday against Puerto Rico.

Well Ricky reacted pretty much that way at the LA game the other week in PHP. I thought the heat was the reason he was crying at first but now I'm thinking it was more just the effect of watching FCD.
I guess we'll find you guys by looking for the drums. We'll see how the kids do and maybe we'll end up moving to a more shady spot. I'll be sporting my hoops and perhaps the kilt.

Jonno, a kilt?!?! Brilliant. I wish I'd read this prior to leaving the house this morning, as I would've worn mine. Next match for sure. Naturally, we'll have to be careful about jumping up in excitment.

Aye, I always wore one to Burn/FCD games. Mind Heather is not so keen on going traditional for the footy. Too many roaming hands...

Blogger Mike H sez (http://mysoccerblog.blogspot.com/2008/06/2008-us-open-cup-best-night-in-us-club.html) ours will probably be the best game of the night.
Get ready for a stinker;)

With a midweek, off-schedule game, I was afraid attendance might be on the low side. But from the rumors & rumblings I've heard, tonight might be the biggest crowd yet!
IS IT 7:30 YET? :D

Yeah, I'm starting to think the same thing. Hope the food people are prepared this time!
I mentioned it to my next door neighbor (that plays in AMSA), and he said "Oh, that's right! I got an email about it. I work up that way, it'd be easy for me to get there."
It will say a lot if we get a 'biggest crowd yet' on an NBA finals night.
[edit] I mention this because my co-worker was going to go. But he's a big Lakers fan. *sigh* some people's priorites!;)[end of edit]
I've been impressed at how many people actually have some awareness of the Open Cup.

I am counting five from our office (six if you count the one who is going to be one of the assistant referees for the match)

The most up-to-date info will be on OpenCup.com (http://www.usopencup.com).
The Aztex don't yet have webcast abilities.
