Spartak

Shevchenko

khalid2222, we get your point. You think Ronaldo is great. But many people don't think he is as great as you think. Including me. He is not the same player he was in '97-'98. He is still a good player but not the best striker in the world. I would take Raul, RVN, Henry, Mutu, Vieri, and of course Sheva all ahead of him right now.

he might not be what he used to be, but he is still above the rest

How about Crespo?

I think he's much more dangerous than for instance Henry who's not a real match-winner like Ronaldo and v Nistelrooy.

Yes, his Barcelona days were the best of him. However, I do rate Ronaldo up there, but may not be the best.

My best five are....

Ronaldo, Vam Nisterlrooy, Henry, Shevchenko and Raul.

Excape Goat ur top 5 are well chosen. i think there all great but dont u guys think that van nistelrooy was on fire last year, i mean the guy scored in 10 straight league games. some could argue and say oohh he was a lone striker for almost the whole season and with a midfield like man u he was getting served with passes.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been chosen for best striker of the year by the uefa.

Crespo better than Henry?? Surely you're kidding! ... Not only is Crespo not the best striker in the world, he wasn't even the best striker on his team last year (Vieri) and again this season (Mutu)! His knees are toast!

you're biased, Crespo is a big target man and he missed 8 months of competition and still managed to score 9 goals in CL?????

Well, that's half my point - Henry is healthier! Plus he can create as well as finish!

as far as I know this is the first major injury in Hernan's career.

WEll, he missed half of his last season in Lazio along with half of his only season in Inter. He might come back and have a great year at Chelsea, but that's speculative. While Crespo was hobbling around the last 2 years, Henry scored 48 premier league goals and 14 C.L. goals!

I guess 102 goals in Serie A (known worldwide for its tight defenses) its an easy feat.

Crespo might've been the best striker in the world 3 and 4 years ago! But right now he ain't.

Crespo is pure class.
I think he's up there with Saviola, judging by his international appearances.
