The Legion is becoming a joke:

http://www.insidesocal.com/soccer/2008/05/chivas-usa-postgame-3.html

"By the way, the soap opera of Legion 1908 continues.

After boycotting the last two Chivas USA home games in protest because a member of their group was banned from the stadium for fighting with a member of the Ultras (another Chivas USA fan group), Legion 1908 returned. Except they decided to do a tour of the stadium, yell at the Ultras en masse, and when one of their members climbed atop a railing and ignored a security guard's demand to get down the fan was tossed from the stadium.

Expressing their solidarity (again) Legion 1908 walked out too.

So they missed the team they allegedly support getting a share of the Western Conference lead."

Get over yourselves. You're not more important than the team. Grow up, cut the stupid kid shit out. You guys are great for the atmosphere and filling that section, but are seriously embarrassing yourselves.

Why the ******** are they fighting with the Ultras? this shit makes no sense.

Getting in a fight with people that support the same team as you sure seems like a way to get people to come to the game, eh, FRONT OFFICE!!!!? oh im itching to go now

they shouldnt be fighting in the first damn place. everyone needs to get off their goddamn high horse and grow the ******** up.

im actually more motivated to go to a game now because i know i wont have to be near such stupidity because they wont be there.

what the hell? (Scratches head)

I hope whatever the problem gets resolved, The Legion is missed but the team always comes first and by walking out they sent the wrong message

I like the atmosphere that the Legion brings but they need to realize that they are not in South America, they are not the GSE, and as hard as they try will never have that "Hooligan" culture in the U.S..

I absolutely agree IF they are fans of both Chivas Guad and Chivas USA. Its seems from what I have read and their actions most are not supporters of Chivas USA. I Have read several time they look at CUSA game as "practice" for the 1 or 2 time Chivas Guad come to Cali.

Is their passion and support missed, absolutely.
Is all this BS worth their support ?

1.) Yes
2.) Not sure.

Starting fights with other fans is inexcusable. I'll miss their presence at the games, but this shit needs to stop.

having encountered this group as a G's supporter, i can answer your question . . . many in la legion treat their funtion as more of a gang social than support group for CUSA.

sad but true.

just like other folks that post to this board, i have seen la legion in action. as an individual that has dealt with gangs growing up, the only difference i see between the common LA gang members and the legion is . . . . gang members at least have the guts to fight one on one, face to face.

are there a minority cool guys in the legion? no doubt. are there a minority of cool members of 18th street, MS, etc . . . no doubt. bottom line, any group that openly supports violence is crap and should be treated accordingly.

personally i feel that CUSA and your group (the ultras) would be better served to disassociate yourselves with these types. based on what i read here, i think most ultras quietly feel the same way i do.

as a graduate of USC i would hope that this rivalry would become something like that which exists between SC and UCLA. before the game we party, talk trash, get drunk . . . but all in all it is good fun and quite often the groups intermingle and nothing bad ever happens. trash talking is great and it is what makes a rivalry fun. those that can't respect their rivals have no place in the sporting world.

Why don't you explain the situation instead of playing pity party?

I saw the Legion tailgating in the parking lot and I think I remember seeing them inside the game. Then they were gone. Pray tell - what happened? Personally, I've never witnessed any sort of violence on the part of the Legion and they've been nothing but friendly to us whenever we've made our way to their tailgate. I've always disregarded Gals fans' stories about "being attacked" etc by the Legion, but at some point when the stories persist, they start getting traction. That, coupled with the boycotts of late, then LEAVING the game tells me that something is up.

I'd love to hear the story from the Legion's perspective. I certainly don't want any sort of fan violence, especially between supporters of our own team.

So...care to explain what happened and why the Legion left the game? I honestly would like to hear another side to the story.

i would love to respond to that ! the things that happen at the game are between two people its a personal matter that has been carried on to the stadium with it should have nevered happened but it did . I am speaking as a member of the legion 1908 and not as a gang member like most of you think we are one thing you guys wont under stand is that the legion is not your regular fans or your porra somos hinchas de deportivo guadalajara and no we don't need to be in argentina to be a hincha we support chivas usa but we are not the official supporters group of them and will never be the things between the ultras and legion are personal that needed to be taken care of chivas usa front offices tried to to fix it but just made it worst and for the most part security has made harder on us just to be there the legion has been there since day one . we walked out because security kick out a member for no reason just because we were singing & chanting that's why we all walked out in solidarity

I started this thread and never referred to anyone as a gang member. I just said your actions are child-like and embarrassing. I saw you guys walking around the stadium and I saw when you stopped and had your little showing at the Ultras. It was whack and idiotic. I also saw that security had to make you guys step back from that area and I saw where one or multiple of your members ignored the security guard.

I LOVE having you guys at the games, making a ruckus and bettering the atmosphere. One of the first things that drew me to want to keep going back to Chivas games was the Legion and what it brought to the atmosphere. I miss the Legion at the games and was pretty excited when I saw your section ready to go on Saturday. It was really disappointing when I saw the exhibition of idiocy aimed at the Ultras and your subsequent walk-out.

You guys aren't anyone's victims. But you're acting like you are w/all your melodrama. If there is an issue between two grown ass men, let it go. Move on. Be adults about it. If one of your members acts like an asshole and gets kicked out, tell him to stop acting like an asshole, don't encourage it by showing solidarity with the idiocy.

If its a personal problem between 2 or 3 certain individuals and not Ultras vs Legion, why come to our side of the stadium just to sing us that song?

Damm...this reminds me of my college years when Latino student organizations just fought with each other instead of working together in support of the common cause. Must be in our blood....pride, machismo, alcohol or what ever it is.....we are always fighting. Dodger Stadium, HDC, college parties or quinceaneras......you name the venue and there is always trouble involving our raza.

Way to generalize!

I think I'll pick a fight with myself, just for practice.

legion never starts fights? please explain what occurred at the G's/CUSA game september of last year. hell i suppose anyone could get documented proof of what transpired because the LA sherrif's dept was involved, but i suppose those in denial would still not believe.

and just to correct the misstaments, i never said legion is a gang, i said they behave like one. please note the difference and if you need further clarity, please get a better education.

i am not one to lie or blow things out of proportion . . . think about it, if la legion is willing to fight with fellow CUSA supporters, what do you think they do to non CUSA supporters? and please spare me "you don't understand the mexican fan" crap. i am a dual citizen of mexico and the US, attend games (FMF) in mexico and the US. and in case you don't see my avitar, i am a strong FMF supporter. no matter what la legion wants you to believe, they are not representative of the common chivas fan (at least not in my family, and belive me my family is loaded with chivas supporters) not the common FMF fan.

period.
