If anyone from Montreal can help me , would be much appreciatted.
I am going to Montreal next weekend for the Grand Prix F1, and wanted to know where I can watch the opening matches for Euro 08. If anyone can suggest any bars or pubs around that area where the cirquit is, would be fantastic. Also, what channels in Canada are showing the games ?
Are there channels that all bars carry like ESPN here in the US ?
Also, do people there follow soccer, i mean, will people know that Euro is going on ?!
Tnx to all who can help.

The circuit is on an island in the St. Laurent which contains only a park, the race track and a large casino. There are not any bars near the circuit. It is however, very easy and fast to get to the circuit by subway from downtown so your best bet is to watch the games downtown and then take the subway to the track. Montreal has a lot of ethnic communities so the Euro is huge. All of the bars downtown will be showing the games but if you go to the right ones with people from the countries playing it can be the next best thing to being at the stadium. St. Laurent street in particular has a lot of soccer bars. The biggest and most famous is Champs which will be crazy and full of hundreds of fans but you will have to get there early to get a seat: http://english.montrealplus.ca/bars_restaurants/champs_bar_restaurant/489446 For a more mellow experience with better food and service which is smaller but will also be full of fans, there is Cafe Bica accross the street from Champs: http://english.montrealplus.ca/portal/profile.do?categoryID=2&contentType=0&profileID=1087337
