What's up with Olivier Occean, I have yet seen him play for Canada.
Its a shame that Canada, Hondura, and Mexico were all put into the same group. :(

This game better be on TV this time around.
The game isn't on Sportsnet's broadcasting schedule.
Panama's time zone would be similar to our Pacific or Mountain time zones so the game would likely start from anywhere between 9PM and 10:30PM EST
Sportsnet's website is showing (on Sportsnet Ontario) Best Damn Sports Show, Sportsnet Connected, Ultimate Fighter 7 during that time zone.
Elsewhere across the Sportnet channels other regions are showing the likes of Darts, Billiards and various Talk Shows.

I believe this game isn't even open to the public, so I doubt there is any chance of getting tv coverage of this.

Ya it's a tough one, I dunno ... I'll do my best to try to find a stream but ... well ...
By the way, they say De Guzman is a bit injured (?) and Canada may have to play without him.
The quote:
Note - Canada finishes its World Cup qualifying preparation Wednesday in Florida with an exhibition game against Panama, but will probably have to play it without star midfielder de Guzman. De Guzman limped off the field Saturday against Brazil after straining his Achilles tendon and medial collateral knee ligament.

There won't be tv for Canada vs. Panama, it's a closed door match.
What a pain in the arse about De Guzman's injury.

The game in St. VaG will not. They don't have the facilities to do the broadcast.
However, the game in Montreal will be on Sportsnet I believe.

Will it be on all four sportsnet regions, or just the eastern regions?

With the DeGuzman injury hopeully it will give us a chance to make lemonade out of lemons. We'll see what lineup DM uses vs Panama and see how the players pick up the slack.

IIRC it will be on all regions live.
As for the Panama game, it will be of some use to give us a chance to see what like is like without Julian in midfield, as that may likely be the case for the first qualifying match. He's the midfield general, everything runs through him so it's a big loss no matter who we play. Problem is that the most logical player to fill the void (and the one most capable IMO) is Nsaliwa, who we can't use in qualifying either. After that I would go with Imhof, but he's injured as well. I'm assuming Bernier will get the nod as a result. I wonder if Mitchell might need to call up another d-mid (Poz? Harmse? Ledgerwood?) to the roster if Julian can't go, as neither Peters & De Jong (or even Will Johnson or Andrew Ornoch who haven't been called) strike me as central "collect the ball & distribute" kind of midfielders. Or maybe given the plethora of left backs (Brennan, Jazic, Klukowski & De Jong) we need to try one of the more experienced ones in that role.

Though I usually emphasize my preference to play guys in positions they consistently play at club level, I would definitely put Brennan in that holding mid role way ahead of having to call in either Pozniak or Harmse.

Harmse does not belong on our national team. If he wasn't from the west coast, I'd be surprised to see him get a cap frankly.

I agree, especially since the back line looked great in the Brasil game it would be good to leave it intact.

Well losing De Guzman could of happened at a far worse time. We need him for the group of death or whatever you wanna call it, we need him against Honduras and Mexico ...
Misses a friendly. No problem. And if they really need him for St Vag, then I don't think they're going anywhere, later. So I don't think they need him until those Honduras, Mexico games.
Big concern is if he's slow to recover or something like that.
Harmse is a liability. I think losing to St Vag very unlikely, but getting a stupid red card mid-way in the game would be one way to do it.
By the way, Panama sneaked by Guatemala in a friendly last week 1-0.

We pushed DeRosario more central and I think that’s what we do against St. V&G. And we get a test run against Panama.
I’d start the same back four against Panama and give them more time together before bringing in Brennan and Hainault.
I think for St. V&G we try to build on our consistency for the two friendlies and start Stalteri-Serioux-Hastings-Klukowski. I think McKenna should take Hastings’ spot, but I don’t want to tinker right before a key match. I think having that consistency is more important than the upgrade McKenna would provide (if he’s even fit to go). Hastings can do the job against St. V&G.
If we leave DeRo where he was against Brazil he basically will have to assume the play-making duties. I would opt for Bernier as a more attacking option to pair with Hutchinson. He’s comfortable in the role and puts in hard work. No one’s going to replace DeGuzman, but I think DeRo can keep things moving and Bernier and Hutchinson will provide the support and passing we need.
This is all assuming Nsaliwa is inelligble.
I’d prefer DeRosario back out wide left once DeGuzman comes back, but Radzinski Friend and Nakajima-Farran I think have enough quality to do the job.
I wish we had Hume and Simpson available, but hopefully DeJong and Peters can provide a spark off thebench if we need it.
I’d like to see Gerba get some quality minutes off the bench against Panama.
cheers,
