Hello.

Recently I downloaded pictures taken by a friend of mine during a Revolution game from photobucket onto my hard drive.

When I open the file folder I saved the pictures to, instead of a thumbnail of the image I get a generic picture logo.

When I attempt to open the picture with Windows Picture Viewer, I get the message "No Preview Available."

When I attempt to open the picture in Microsoft Photo Editor, I get the message "Format is not currently supported". The files are in .jpeg format.

What can I do so I can view the pictures?

If you can't open the image with irfanview:

http://filehippo.com/download_irfanview/

then the files may be corrupted and you may need to redownload the pictures...

Is this true for all pictures or just those? If all your pictures act that way, it could be that some other software has changed what ".jpeg" at the end of a file means to Windows.

If it is just those images, it could be a corruption or it could be badly formed images that some readers can read and some can't. Can you see the image in, for example, a web browser like Firefox? They tend to more forgiving than most image viewers. I also swear by Infranview, and think it is far better than other viewers. You can try that, view the images, and re-save them.

We need more information to tell what is going on.

ok, maybe this is silly and I'm waaaay off base. but you said they're .jpeg? shouldn't they be .jpg? have you tried taking the 'e' out of the extension and seeing if that works? or am I not understanding things? am I asking too many questions?

Thank you for the help.

The files were corrupted, so I downloaded them again and now can view them.
