We are big underdogs, thats for sure but with a bit of luck and a "good day" lots of things are possible.
This tournament might come a bit early for the youngsters, but we do have hope to see some improvement in the near future, the junior teams improved quite a bit within the last years, more and more players are going to stronger foreign leagues so hopefully the end of the tunnel is coming closer. ;)

That's true. And with the home support...

I hope everything remains quite among the supporters. There are gonna be a huge number of croatians in Vienna, the croatian minority in this region isn't too small either since the war. And there have been already some issues between Ultras of Rapid and Hejduk within the last years. :(

it seems like more croatian fans are worried about this game then the german game as we tend to play down to our level of competition when we are the better team..i dont think this will happen with bilic as coach..i think petric will pick up for the loss of eduardo and score 2 goals in a 2-0 croatia win..

Since Austria deserves one win and I'm rooting for Poland I would guess this would be the game for Austria to do it.
They won't. I think Croatia will dominate them.

I think Austria will get a lucky early goal, while Croatia dominates the game, but struggles to get back in the net, with Austria fighting with all they got. Though Croatia will manage to get one in the second half to leave the score 1-1.

Recent games/friendlies for Austria aren't all that bad, in fact, rather good.
Malta tied Turkey ( http://www.soccerphile.com/soccerphile/euro2008/q-groups/group-c.html Sept. 2007) in qualifications so they ain't totally Milktoast and Austria defeats them 5-1? They must not have been trying.
Tie African giants Nigeria 1-1?
Leading Holland at halftime 3-1 to lose 3-4.
Those seem like decent results, of course, their would be details as to if the opponents were playing B teams and the like.
I doubt if those results are telling, but just those off paper make for an Austria with potential.
They were in the World Cup 10 years ago, but I also did watch Israel rout them badly, maybe in Austria but that would even be about 9 years ago.

And Lucas Neil defending, Croatia will have difficulty getting on the board.

And Lucas Neil defending, Croatia will have difficulty getting on the board.
And if Graham Poll refs again, Croatia won't have a player sent off unless they accumulate three yellow cars. Given the etymology of his surname, I wouldn't be too surprised if Sir Graham helped out another team in this group.
