Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality soccer magazine. I just subscribed for a year, and the writing is first rate. Online site is here: http://www.wsc.co.uk/

Wikipedia's two cents is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Saturday_Comes

Would be interested in recommendations for similar publications - I'm kind of a soccer-magazine junkie...

Yeah it's good and entertaining.

I rank the major UK footy mags as...

1. World Soccer
2. WSC
3. FFT

the only one I have a subscription to is FFT because it's $60 a year. WSC and WS cost double that for a year at the current exchange rate.

I'd place 442 first since its the one football mag I get that actually has some info that is new to me by the time I read it. I canceled World soccer since there is little depth to their articles and the rest (league table, results, etc) is already well covered by internet sources in near real time. You simple don't get much value for the price of a World Soccer issue/sub.

Its unfortunate with FFT price these days though. I remember it used to be around 4 bucks, now its around 8 or 9 and now I find myself always disappointed in its quality simply because no matter how many good articles its not worth 8 dollars so I just purchase the season preview issue which is always worth the price IMO.

442 is by far my favorite mag. I dont get it all the time, but when I do I absolutely love it. I probably read every word of that December 2007 issue with Wenger on the cover multiple times. Great photo exhibit, a great interview with Hanneman, stories about the East German football team, the interview with Wenger, it was awesome.

The 442 season preview inserts are always great. I remember the World Soccer European season previews were always pretty good, too. They used to show you the rosters of all the top leagues and talk a little bit about each team.

In the Internet age World Soccer's stats are really irrelevant now, you can just instantly look up all that stuff. Back in like 1996 I thought it was awesome, though.
