Qualification for the the CONCACAF Canadian spot starts tonight. I'm not a Canadian resident, so I can't get the games. If those who can see the games please post the scores, that would be great. I can't really find to many soccer sites covering the games as they happen.
Canadian Champions League:
May 27: Toronto FC @ Impact de Montreal [Stade Saputo]
June 17: Vancouver Whitecaps @ Impact de Montreal [Stade Saputo]
June 25: Impact de Montreal @ Vancouver Whitecaps [Swangard Stadium]
July 1: Vancouver Whitecaps @ Toronto FC [BMO Field]
July 9: Toronto FC @ Vancouver Whitecaps [Swangard Stadium]
July 22: Impact de Montreal @ Toronto FC [BMO Field]
Any predictions? I wonder how the two leagues compare with the round-robin format. I know in the US Open Cup, the USL teams match up pretty well. But they only get so far.

The game was unfortunate. I missed the first 30 minutes standing in line for my ticket. Montreal held their own against Toronto until a very stupid play got a Montreal defender his second yellow. The goal was scored on a set piece from the right side after a dubious foul call. Montreal never really had a chance after that.
Great representation from a traveling contingent of Toronto fans.

You can see the highlights at www.cbc.ca/sports (http://www.cbc.ca/sports) on the video player. I think this was the first time I was happy that I get the "bold" channel (formerly CBC Country Canada).
Toronto surely should advance. It will be neat to see them in an international competition (if I may be so "bold" in my prediction).

I wouldn't be planning your trip south yet. Lots of games to play. Montreal was robbed of a PK in the first half, which they completely dominated.

I've already booked my flight to Nicaragua. (kidding)
Oh yeah, I know. I didn't mean to sound too cocky. Just that Toronto is in MLS and the other clubs aren't so logically they should advance.
My Canada Day will be spent at BMO Field for the White Caps game. Can't think of a better way to spend that holiday!

To be honest, Montreal is lucky the score was only 1-0. That is the worst game I've seen Toronto play all season. Perhaps if Carver had've left Ricketts and Robert on their natural wings we would've won by more. TFC was a lot more dangerous going forward with those two on their proper wings, but they were playing off wing for most of the game.
After that performance last night I would hope Jeff Cunningham never again plays for TFC.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Montreal was lucky it was 1-0. Toronto didn't exactly dominate the game, didn't create a lot of clear chances. After all, even you say that they didn't play very well. Montreal's real problem is that they have absolutely no finishing ability.

What I think he means is that TFC was not at their best last night, if they were they would have dominated more. They're pretty tired right now having played 4 games in 11 nights.
It's far from a foregone conclusion that TFC will win it, but I think it's a fair statement that they are favoured.

No they surely were not at their best. Lots of passes gone awary, lots of turnovers, but fortunately Montreal has no finishing ability.

Jeez guys, giving the cup to Toronto already after only one game, are you forgetting there's another team in the competition, one that sits at the top of the USL-1 table as opposed to Montreal thats sits third from the bottom?

I have only seen Vancouver play once, in Montreal, but Montreal looked the better team in that 0-0 match.

If there's one thing worse than being a fan of the Impact in this competition, it's being a fan of the Caps.
Many Montreal and Toronto fans forget you are there.
Frankly, you guys have a great shot at it.

Well considering that Montreal was the home team, playing their first game in their new stadium with the added incentive to win, playing a team from the west coast that had just two days off from their previous game down in Miami, I'd expect that Montreal would have beaten the Caps. Easily. But they didn't, they couldn't even pop in a goal.
So it's kind of a joke to base a teams quality on one game.

Where on this thread did anyone say Toronto has it in the bag?

I don't know, perhaps it was the person who posted "Toronto surely should advance" that had me thinking that. Perhaps thats just me poorly grasping the English language.

Krammerhead, way to find a cover up on your reasoning, you've protected our plan to attack them solely because they are from toronto.

Well, when you say something like:
Jeez guys, giving the cup to Toronto already after only one game...
...it kind of implies that the entire thread has agreed that Toronto has effectively already won it. All you have is one guy saying that Toronto should surely win it. A rather large discrepency if you ask me.
Pretty much everyone else here seems to believe that the Cup is still up for grabs by all three teams.
