Oh I totally forgot the team who eliminated England: Croatia. They are back and extremely dangerous. I was totally rooting for them during the 1998 World Cup when they got the third place. I think they deserved to be the champs that year. Davor Suker was great. I am totally rooting for all of the underdogs that most give no chance of getting out of the group stages. I am hoping Turkey and Portugal out of Group A, Croatia and Poland out of Group B, Netherlands and Romania out of Group C, and Greece and Spain out of Group D will all make it out. Perhaps wishful thinking but oh well..
Those sure don't sound like all underdogs....

I voted Poland, they have a very balanced squad and played well against some of the top teams in their recent matches. They are debutants and would be very eager to excel. It's time for the Central European teams to shine again at a big tournament.

Croatia have the biggest chance.

From this poll, Croatia or Turkey.

They may meet in the quarterfinals so one of these teams will be guaranteed a SF place. I don't think Poland will beat Portugal in the QFs.

Has to be Croatia now.

It's hard to say. Croatia is nowhere near the underdog that Greece was last time. They certainly aren't 100-1 to win it all like the Greeks.

Romania are a good candidate.

Turkey are an underdog that could do well.
I wouldn't call Croatia an underdog. This will be an interesting game.

Well, two of the choices are still alive. Can either Turkey or Russia go all the way?

Russia

I called it!

After today's display, I have to say that Russia stand a real chance. It depends on who they will play against in the semi-final: Italy or Spain.

Turkey has the handicap of having almost half of the team injured. Perhaps Terim can pull something off but it is going to be difficult.

I'd say Russia, as of today.

Agree. I'm happy we don't have to play them in the semi-final ... although the Turks aren't easy to play either.

What the hell has Mr. Hiddink done with this team since the 1:4 defeat against Spain? Very impressive performance against Sweden and Holland!

That's the reason I'm home already. The Russians looks really strong.....

Russia can win it all, but then they're not like Greece, because Russia plays good football.

In terms of style of football and getting the right breaks, it was almost Italy. But Mr. Casillas fortunately saved us of that.
