I'm gonna be a troll and start the blood boiling. I know many of you don't care for the city derby b/c we haven't been around in a while. Yet last year I must say we owned you with a win and an unconvincing tie. This year we have a better squad and new home. We're hungry again and thus we will win the derby again. What have you to say, eh? :p

This is easily the best/worst combination of stupidity and humour i have come across in a long time

MR JOHN NICHOLSON
Champions: Manchester United if they sign Defoe as insurance against Horseboy getting injured. Chelsea if they sign a major deity such as Buddha or Jesus Christ and make him do tricks.

Football365 doing predictions...

I mean Defoe??? signing a player as insurance wins you the EPL?

Anyone catch the Newcastle-Leeds match yesterday on FSW?

I thought it was pretty good, and was surprised to see Newcastle struggling for so much of the match.

Leeds have to feel pretty good about getting a point, even though they gave up an equalizer so close to full time.

Well, Ayala denies having made any remarks saying he was in favor of a move to ManU and that no club, english or otherwise has contacted him recently...

read here: ManU please, please, come and buy me!!!

Is his contract up soon or something? he must want more money from Valencia or something, with his history for dissing clubs it seems likely what was first reported has some truth to it.

I had my first look at Jonathan Spector when he started for the U17s against Spain. Spain won 3-1, & played quite well even with playing 10 the entire 2nd half. I thought Spector played a good game in CD, nothing flashy, winning crosses & distributing the ball forward. With more experience with United's youth team, I think the kid has a bright future.

Keane to be used as emergency defender- Ferguson (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/story/0,1273,-3054608,00.html) MANCHESTER, England, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Roy Keane will be used as an emergency central defender by Manchester United this season, Alex Ferguson has said.

The United manager intends to use Keane along with fellow midfielder Djemba-Djemba in his back-line after failing to sign defensive cover during the close season.

"Defensively we could still have a problem. We've got a good back four of Gary Neville, Mikael Silvestre, Rio (Ferdinand) and John O'Shea," Ferguson told the club's official magazine. "Then I think Djemba-Djemba can play at right back as I've seen him perform there before and he did very, very well. Roy can also play centre half."

Yeah Cach... just read that myself... it goes with what i mentioned before on BS... that Dj could be used at rightback in emergency... i guess what will really let us know our depth is how well Kleberson plays... If he can replace either Keane or Dj in the midfield we would really have alot of flexibility... I pray we dont need it though, there are some small hospitals that could not house all our injured defenders recently... glad we had this bout of injury and bad luck early... hope we dont have anymore...

You're still not as deep as Chelsea.

Correct, Chelsea are deep alright... deep into the red... Veron plays one good game and everyone is happy, well, even if he sucks u have another overrated player to replace him in Cole... Oh yes, crappy attacking midfielders we dont have, we just have more goals than Adrian Mutu scored... from each of our attacking midfielders, Scholes, Giggs, and Solskjaer... hmmm

Alright - I must back mtkillamanjohno here, and glad to do it as well!

True Chelsea has more players
--they also have more debt (If Abramovich pulls out, how will they afford those inflated salaries - it will ruin the club!!!)
--they have less verastility (most there players only play one posiiton, whereas we have adaptability on our side)
--they have to keep more people happy (which in turn makes less people happy)
--they have more unproven commodities
--old players that need to be phased out (petit, desailly, stanic, hasselbaink)
--mediocre midfielders!!! (Can't find ONE that would definetly start for Man Utd!!!!!!!)
--ManUtd has more difference makers

For all of those bandwagoners that are being wowed by the sea of green that Abramovich is willing to dish out I must make several points!!!!

1. They have not played together, and although they may have a lot of talent - expect several of their new players to be complete flops! It is how this game works. Veron was great in Italy, a flop for Man Utd, and he may be good for Chelsea but we cannot make unwarranted claims!

2. How is their manager going to get them all playing time???? Adding Crespo now gives them 4-5 legit forwards, but I can tell you that 3 of them are not going to like riding the pine!!!!! Discent kills teams!

3. There group of players, albeit good, are not of the same quality as ManUtd!!! (exception in defense noted - but that will change once we add another 1-2 defenders to our squad!!!!)

Here's an article (http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1027979,00.html) about that notorious 'control freak', someone named Ferguson. :D At Old Trafford it is known as the Ryan Giggs treatment and Sir Alex Ferguson reminded everyone of its conditions yesterday. Cristiano Ronaldo will not be rushed into the first team, he said, but will be on the bench at Newcastle today. As for interview requests, forget it. At 18, Ronaldo may already have shown he is on first-name terms with the ball but it will be a long time before he is on similar terms with any journalist. And that, Ferguson emphasised with one of his impenetrable stares, is the way it is. Like it or lump it.

The challenge for Ferguson, that notorious control freak, is whether he can dictate Ronaldo's lifestyle as he did, say, with Giggs, when more than ever before footballers are front-page news ....... On one occasion, when he was 17 and had played about 20 first-team games, Giggs recalls several older players such as Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce had been given club cars. "I suppose I was too young to know any better. I knocked on the gaffer's door and gave him my best speech: 'I'm playing regularly now, I've done well and I think I deserve a car.' He went ballistic: 'A car? More like a bike, you mean.' It's fair to say I never went into his office again."

And that's why Every Single One Of Us Loves Alex Ferguson. :D
