According to a groundskeeper I saw on tv the problem with Old Trafford and other stadiums is that there is not enough air circulation inside the stadium.

Actually, I hear it's because the stands are so high, not enough direct sunlight can get through to the pitch to keep it healthy...

Its diddly to do with sunlight. After all, a lot of the new stands have the glass panels to let sunlight through. Its to do with air circulation.

And another problem is that the pitches are not deep enough. OT has a pitch about an inch and a half thick where the grass can root. This is not enough. If there where another inch of soil, then the grass could root properly, and not cut up as bad as it does.

The papers should pick up the tab, since those remarks probably increased circulation. ;)

'Manchester United have signed Anderlecht youngster Floribert Ngalula.

United have agreed a four-year contract with the highly-rated Belgian Under-16 international, beating off competition from Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Bolton.

The defensive midfielder is the younger brother of current Anderlect defender Junior Ngalula and is a product of the club's youth system, but turned down the offer of a contract there.

The MEN (Manchester Evening News) report that John O’Shea is to be offered a new deal in the summer. The young defender has started 39 games this season and United will apparently reward this progress with a new contract. O’Shea is currently earning £10’000 a week, the new deal will offer him around £35’000.

there are so many times he has bailed us out,,, if we had lost that game against liverpool when barthez made that spectacular save aginst haman who knows where we would have been in the table. that was such a crucial game too. if you think he is such garbage,, try filling his shoes. lets see how many goals you let past your goal.

i think the main thing with barthez...well..at least MY main thing with barthez, is pretty much based on what you said.

He can be absolutley brilliant at times, but he can also be a complete train wreck. We cant have a goalkeeper sitting behind the rest of our players that doesnt have the the slightest tinge on consistancy. why? because it spreads to everyone else on the pitch.

i guarantee we would have won the title one week earlier had berthez not been in goal, and someone consistantly solid was.

but, hey....that just my opinon.
