Fantastic article - interview with SAF. Gives a look at how he reacts. Also says that the current squad is better, talent-wise, than the 99 and 94 squads.

He does not say that this current squad is stronger mentally.

Does anyone know why Saha didn't play for Fulham? Was it because Saha is being sold to MU or an argument with the manager or because he wasn't fit?

I hope Saha didn't play because he already consider himself as a MU player.

Its common practice once a deal has been agreed to for clubs not to play the player in question... lest he pick up a knock that jeopardizes the deal...

Ole's injury may keep him out until the end of the season (http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/sport/football/manchesterunited/stories/Detail_LinkStory=78761.html)

"The knee injury has many similarities with the one that ended Alf Inge Haaland's career. It could take another three months to heal."

SAF speaks of being a Busby Boy (http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/sport/football/manchesterunited/stories/Detail_LinkStory=78739.html)

From Nobby Stiles:

"One of the greatest memories of the Busby style is of the time we lost 7-2 to Sheffield Wednesday in that period when I was first making my way in the team. We lost the game at Old Trafford. United didn't lose by that margin to anyone, anywhere, and for it to have happened in front of our fans had sent pain and anger into the boss's bones. That was clear enough, soon enough, but not too soon. He gave us a little time to grasp fully what had happened. When we came into the dressing room from the field he was standing at the treatment table, a big man immaculately dressed and with his face turned to stone. We sat on our benches heads down, without anyone uttering a peep...

...Finally, after what seemed like an age had passed, Busby moved away from the treatment table and came to each of us in turn. He just looked into our eyes, one by one, for about a minute. He didn't say a word. His eyes just bored into us. You could, I thought, have heard a sparrow cough back in Collyhurst. When he completed his circle of the dressing room he walked to the door, turned and issued his famous, deadly phrase. 'That is not Manchester United,' he said before going out and quietly shutting the door behind him. We hardly moved or spoke for another ten minutes.

Wow... that was... surreal, i felt like i was in the room while it was happening...

Im pretty sure there was some shouting in the dressing room after the wolves game though...

Gist of it is that we are not happy with the FA making out (and leaking again) that we had sent a huge document in our appeal over Rio's ban when most of it was appendices.

Also says that rumours of Ole being out the rest of the season are unfounded. Phew!

Hmm. Not sure who to believe now.

The Sun & BBC have the following;

"Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems likely to miss the rest of the season after discovering he needs another knee operation."

The Telegraph have this;

"On a brighter note for United, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, 30, should be back in the side within the next month. The player's agent has dismissed reports from Norway that the striker faced sitting out the rest of the season with a knee injury similar to the one that finished former Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland's career."

But the BBC report has been posted recently and they usually check :(

UNITED ON THE LASH
The Mirror says Manchester United's superstars have been spotted boozing into the early hours between training sessions on their mid-season break to Dubai. Wes Brown was thrown out of a bar because of his drunken behaviour while Ryan Giggs was spotted getting cosy with two blondes.

From today's "The Mirror"

Looks like the boys aren't worrying too much about the loss to Wolves.

Keane says Butt one of England's best midfielders (http://breakingnews.iol.ie/sport/iestory.asp?j=582398094446&p=58z398x95x69&n=582398095134&t=soccer) “I still regard Nicky as one of the best midfielders in England,” Keane said.

“Apart from being a very good player, he is also excellent in the dressing room, which is so important.

“I am sure there will be plenty of clubs interested in him and hopefully he will get the right move.”

Keane can understand why Butt feels like he does but advised his fellow midfielder not to quit unless the deal was absolutely right.

Phil Bardsley, Mads Timm and Eddie Johnson go on loan to Antwerp. The players have to agree to stay there till the end of the season if they want. They are currently training with the Antwerp first team.

That's a good opportunity for them. I thought SAF might put one or two of them on the bench for the Northampton game. Maybe Nardiello and Eagles will make it though.

I hope Antwerp does for Bardsley what it did for O'Shea.
