From Rednews.co.uk:

Ryan Giggs has denied the charge of improper conduct for his involvement in a confrontation with Lauren after the match had ended, and Cristiano Ronaldo has denied the charge of improper conduct for confronting Martin Keown, also at the conclusion of the match.

Dates for hearings for all the cases will be scheduled in due course.

It also says that most of the Arsenal players are pleading guilty - although some of the charges have been combined in some cases, and some have been dropped (Lehman, if you believe it, for his altercation with the linesman gets a warning only  )

The Arsenal club plead guilty to their charge as well...

another gem from Rednews.co.uk today:

Thursday, October 16, 2003

FA councillor quoted in the SUN: “Neville’s comments are astounding and disgraceful. I don’t know how he’s got the nerve to say these things and, if I had my way, he would never play for England again.”

They sure chose a prime time to show it...

Ah, the joys of TiVo. Thanks, MM. :)

I hate all the odd times that digital cable chooses to air the football matches that I want to see. The worst is when I have to wait 4 or 5 days after the match has been played to actually see it on tv.

anyways, thanks for the heads up Motterman

Those of only as old as 32 remember only a few years ago when soccer games were only available on PBS or Mexican channels. And, if it was on Mexican TV, you can bet you weren't watching Manchester United lol

I'm incredibly happy at the fact that I get to see the games at all.

And if you want to watch the games live, you can. Get DirecTV and get the PPV or (if possible) support your local pubs

don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see the games, whenever they show them. But it's frustrating when they only show the game once, 5 days after it's been played, from 3-5 in the morning.

and there's only 1 bar in my area that gets foxsportsworld, but it's not the greatest scene. The crowd there would probably throw me out into the alley if I turned on a soccer game.

btw, I'm 21

Are you in NYC? There are a ton of soccer friendly bars in the city.

I wish I was in NYC. But i'm actually in upstate NY, in Rochester. and it's very boring here. and the worst part is that none of my friends are big into soccer, some of them hate it, some don't care...but I think I'm turning a couple of them

If your friends don't like soccer......get new friends. ;) Here are a few places that might be more soccer friendly.

Doghouse, The 716-581-2275 678 West Ridge Road
Rochester==has some kind of Ukrainian affiliation.

or

The Old Toad Pub & Restaurant. 277 Alexander Street, Rochester, NY 14607. (716) 232-2626 Email:thetoad@frontiernet.netThe Old Toad sells real ale both local and from Britain and offers an extensive British menu. It is staffed with university students from the UK as part of their education.

You may already know about these places, but the second especially seems promising.

More Salgado news. (http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/sport/football/manchesterunited/stories/Detail_LinkStory=70814.html) MICHAEL Salgado could be set for Old Trafford following an apparent falling out with Real Madrid.

The Spanish international fullback is incensed that the club has only just started talks to renew his contract, which is due to expire in the summer. And that could encourage United, who are reportedly keen to offer the player, who celebrates his 28th birthday today, a £10 million four-year deal. Ahhhhh . . . . . you gotta love it when they negotiate through the press. ;)

I haven't heard that one regarding Chelski before.

Now that I think about it, I want them to buy Salgado. All the more debt for them to carry, and hopefully, put them in administration by next summer. :D

what with Ambro-what's his name and his bottomless pit of a pocket, a wistful but not very likely scenario.
