Man Utd being on PPV is really beginning to piss me off. First off, I have no problem paying to watch my team play, however when there are problems getting PPV to work on my cable box, it gets annoying. Especially since there is no one to call for help on the weekend. I am seriously thinking of getting DirectTV installed at the house. Never had a problem at my parents watching/purchasing the games.

flounderchop,
i agree with the idea that direct-tv has fewer problems when it comes to ordering/viewing matches. my in-laws have direct-tv and its the reason why i don't mind 'visiting' them on some friday nights, sleeping over and getting up really early in the a.m. to watch. it is still a bit pricey but i figure i can cut back on the saturday night outings with the guys.

I have DirecTV and have been ecstatic with absolutely every single aspect. I bought the Tivo/DirecTV box and it is heaven.
But... the only things DirecTV offers outside of FSW is the YES Network and additional PPV channels. If you want all the Man Utd games on PPV, you have to pony up $269 of which part of your money goes to help Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool... ;) I wish I could just buy Man Utd's games but no...
YES Network will air every game each week (from what I can tell) but four to five days after it originally aired. I like YES' showing of the matches better than FSW since the YES showing is the same announcers you would get if you lived in Manchester, I think.
Be forewarned, however - when there is a bad storm outside, your DirecTV will go out until the storm lessens. So far, I've been lucky and its been sunny on gamedays :)

Bigtoga:
you can buy Man Utd's games individually each week if they are live on PPV only. That's what I've done the past two weeks.
Just go to channel 720 for ordering information. You should be able to order for Saturday already.
Cost is $16 per game.

I kne that - I don't know why I said it that way. What I meant (and should have said) was that I wish there was a package deal way to buy just MU's games. I can pay $269 and get all games or I can pay $16 a game for 30 games (6 on live FSW = $480)...

FSW uses the original commentary, a lot, i don't remember it otherwise for the premiership games.
The only games on Yes that i seen where they showed Man U many years back, never saw anything new and i have no idea about their programing, do they have a time slot for Man U recent games .?

I don't know that there is a regular time slot for Man Utd games on YES - I just tell my Tivo to record anything with the words "MANCHESTER UNITED" found in the title or description and it records whatever...

There's a thread in the US Youth forum about Kenny Cooper playing with the reserves:

Funny quote from Djemba-Djemba in today's Rednews (from rednews.co.uk):
"On the day of my Old Trafford debut against Bolton I got lost on my way to Old Trafford. On another occasion I had to flag down a police car to ask the way and the driver was a City fan. He told me 'because you're a Red you're going to have to sort it out for yourself', but he was only joking. I feel like I have been here for the last 10 years and the players treat me as though I've always been here. I think the English have a similar mentality to ourselves in Africa, they're very tough with a hard spirit and a tough mentality and for that reason I feel very much at home. The manager wasn't too angry because he realised I hadn't got used to my surroundings. He just took the Mickey out of me and everyone had a laugh."

I see that Darren Fletcher scored with his first touch and put Scotland into the playoffs.

Yes... have to agree with you, I hope that in the next 2 seasons we can work him into our line up more and more... I know he is young but I would like to see more of him...
I like Ronaldo, and yes, he will learn to pass the ball eventually and I think he is our right half of the future, however if he does not work out (i dont think that will be the case but u never know) Fletcher can step up in time, but i see him more as the future replacement for Scholes, he has good pace, but he needs to learn the game...

Ferguson said that he sees Fletcher playing in the middle, but he needs to get stronger first.

Good news on Fletcher doing well for Scotland but O'Shea had a nightmare game for Ireland against Switzerland. He miscontrolled the ball which allowed the Swiss to score their first and game the ball away several times.

I've never really seen O'Shea play well for Ireland. Granted, I've maybe only seen 5 or 6 matches, but there's something there I suppose.
He's still got some learning to do, and we all now how we miss him marching down the wing as well...

O'Shea's performances for Ireland so far have been perplexing to say the least. He has been tried in both the full back and center back roles but he has played quite poorly.

Aren't we connected to Antwerp in some way? It says that they have appointed a taxi driver as their coach... Ok - there's more to it - read it if you want.
