It's going to be mega.

I don't know about the rest of you

but for me next season's priorities go:

PL
CL

It's our chance to get 18 whilst on the way to 3rd title in a row. To be honest, I haven't stopped thinking about that since we got 17.

A chance to defend the CL is also there.

- we're the oinly team to have ever won the league in its new format (PL) 3 times.

- the European Cup has never been retained in it's new (CL) format.

I think this is the most excited I've been thinking ahead to a new season.

For interest's sake we're challenging for 7 trophies next season, all included.

(In order of importance, imo) - () ending

Charity Shield (Aug)
League Cup (Feb)
Super Cup (Late Aug)
World Club Cup (Dec)
FA Cup (May)
Champions League (May)
League (May)

Just because they're all there, it would be fun to try for each of them, even if only 3 of them are important.

I just pray that stupid world club cup doesn't mess us up in the league!

DS, couldn't you have waited? I'm purposely not thinking about next season yet in order to enjoy this one.

You're a bad man.

Normally I would put the league above all else - but the challenge and possible glory of retaining the Champions League trophy might really be the thing next season.

I'd really like to see a deeper run in the FA Cup next season.

The League Cup - probably least of the worries next year.

The Charity Shield - hey great if they win it.

The Super Cup ought to be entertaining at the very least, and is certainly winable.

The World Club Cup is a bit of a lottery to me - only because I don't know how seriously the club will take it.

I think the joys of this one have enabled me to think of the next one!

It's all a big cluster******** for me right now! :D

There's going to be so much energy in our league campaign next season. It won't escape the players what this one means.

Am I the only one who wants to send a reserve squad to the WCC or whatever it's called?

Considering all the great teams that have been in it since the new format...to do that would be ********ing awesome.

I always put the PL before the CL, but just thinking about retaining the CL is giving me goosebumps..

Those Park fanboys in the other forum really think he's not going to get games with a schedule like this - you must be having a laugh.

Guys like Fletch, Park, Evans (if Silvestre is gone), O'Shea, are going to have huge roles to play next season.

I could care less about the Club World Cup, I wish we didn't have to go. Still want the big 3 - League, CL, FA Cup.

Nope, I do as well. Time for Possebom, Eagles, Cathcart, and Wellllllllllllbeck to shine.

I care so little about that trophy that I'd even send Manucho.

Answering the question I had a few days ago...

http://www.fifa.com/clubworldcup/organisation/media/newsid=711059.html

The reintroduction of the match for fifth place has also prompted the organising committee to increase the prize fund for the 2008 tournament by USD 500,000 to a total of USD 16.5 million. The winners will take away USD 5 million, the losing finalists USD 4 million, the third-placed team USD 2.5 million, the fourth-placed team USD 2 million, the fifth-placed team USD 1.5 million (USD 500,000 more than last year), the sixth-placed team USD 1 million and the seventh-placed team USD 500,000.

In the relative scheme of things, it's not a lot of prize money. Not exactly peanuts either.

Anything that fills our debt-laden coffers is worth winning, sadly.

So I expect we'll go full force in both the Supercup and the club cup. A lot of South Americans take that worthless trophy very seriously indeed. I figure it will be a tough time to be a mod.

er...

Why is that? Is diving permitted? Can fans throw toilet paper on the pitch?

I'd send him too! Leave the world class #9 at home.

South Americans really do take that trophy seriously - I remember reading about Ronaldinho, saying it was something he always wanted because of how respected it is down there. The South American clubs think it actually does mean you're the best in the world, something I disagree with - most teams, especially the European based ones, don't really go full tilt in these games.

Do we know yet who we're playing in the WCC and SuperCup?

We play Zenit in the supercup (UEfa vs CL winners)

The majority of the WCC finalists has yet to be confirmed.

I'm worried about injuries in that as well.
