Champions of Europe.
:D
Waking up each morning that's the first thing popping into my head since we won it.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
It's starting to sink in now... and it feels good. Real good.
Get your cups out for the lads!

I've gone mental, i keep having flashes from the game at random times, i havent stopped smiling and singing at work today... This ofcourse has irritated my boss who is a bitter greatly. Our lovely resident scousers are missing as well. :D
BTW, to anybody from Manc, did Hatton wish us luck or summat on the radio? All the bitters think he's betrayed them. :D
Ah, this is so much fun. :)

Now what was that about this being 'THE YEAR!!' for Liverpool? Kings of Europe? Stick is up your arses lads, you won nothing. Finnan is past it, Carragher is looking likewise, they remain to have the poorest flanks out of any team consistently in the CL (as has been the case of about 8 years now, no joke). The media early in the year were so delighted to hail Liverpool as 'on top of the league for the first time in 5 years' having failed to mention that fact until it was retrospective. Hansen, Souey, Thompson, Lawro and co probably reckoned them to go on and win it so didn't have to hide the truth anymore... stinger, lads... absolute stinger. Their two best & most consistent defenders of the last few years (Carragher & Finnan) are looking past it, and doubtlessly the Rafalution(!!) will continue into next season,m where the deadweight will be replaced by... other deadweight. It's been 18 years now... nearly every Liverpool fan in primary and secondary education has never seen Liverpool win the league in their lifetimes and I am sure the United-supporting counterparts are letting them know about it! The besyt part of it all? We got it worse offthem than anybody when Glazer bought the club... and now while we are the undisputed best team in England (back-to-back Champions) and Europe (winning your domestic league & the CL together cements that imo) they are stuck wallowing in their 'Yanks Out!' mistery... because they were league Champions elect before being bought. Don't worry though lads, because NEXT year is THE year!!
Arsenal, ze beautifool team, beelt on a shoestreeng. Zey spend nothing and are ze best team in the world. Look at zese kids picked up for pennies, zey will be be ze best team since Ajax in 1995. Yeah, they won f'ck all, too. Their 'captain' (yes, they - bought - a captain, to be captain in his first year :rolleyes ) had the most fantastic mental breakdown since Kevin Keegan. Their manager went completely loola, calling for players to be banned for life for accidentally fouling his players, diving in with conspiracy theories, failing to strengthen when it was so blatantly obvious he had to, and not for the first time in his career, found completely wanting when the chips were down. Likewise, the rest of the team completely bottle it like they are renowned for, and the proof is in the pudding that even just a fraction of the media adversity we have had since the sale of Ruud once again proves too much for the new Brazil '70.
Chelsea. All the advantages of a sugar Daddy in Roman Abramovitch have been turned on their head the last two years, with the likes of Shevchenko and Ballack (who has done well late this year, in fairness) disjointing the team and causing chaos. Now with rumours of Lampard (I don't believe them), plus Carvalho, Drogba and a few others (a lot more believable - Drogba is a certainty) on their way out due to the falling-out over Jose's sacking (again Roman's idea) this team might have a bit of a transitional period ahead of them. You have to admire the resolve of some of the actual players in their team to keep in it despite such a useless manager, but this still has to be amongst the most expensive teams to win nothing despite suspiciously easy cup draws in a number of competitions. I couldn't have been happier to see that little rat Kenyon having to lead them up to collect their 2nd place CL medals - that has to leave some serious egg on his face and make you wonder if the little c*nt intended to lead them up if they had won the thing.
Last season they wrote us off before a ball was kicked, and we went on to win the league and get to the CL semi's and FA Cup final. This year they did the same after about 3 matches (whilst proclaiming Liverpool, then later Arsenal as champions elect) and we went on to lift the Premiership trophy and Champion's League.
Football, bloody hell!

Yeah, Hatton did wish us luck but I guess that was because he is mates with Rooney.
BTW, billy, Hansen has been very complementary towards us most of the season.

Still can't believe it. I keep smiling like an idiot at work. Must look like a right wierdo. I don't care though because Wednesday night was one of the best nights of my life. Keep shaking when I think how close it all was. Them hitting the post, Terry's penalty just glancing wide of the post. Phew!
Watched it in Varsity in the city centre, the place erupted when Ronaldo openend the scoring and Anelka missed his penalty. I was covered from head to toe in booze from where plastic glasses full of lager got thrown up in the air. Still feel rough now, think it was about 5 in the morning when I finally got to bed. Urgh.

Usually, I hate when the season ends and almost start counting days left till the start of the new season...
Not this time. I'm very thankful the season is over. I mean, I'm seriously worrying about my health with everything that's been going on over the past couple of months :o It's been absolutely crazy, and I've had more drinks to calm my nerves than ever. That's not a good sign, eh? Anyway, I'll be still celebrating for the next few days, and then plan on taking a long break until Euros - trying not to care about anything football related. I need it.

I never said he wasn't, but if there is one man that doesn't resemble Pinocchio who will dive on any potential Liverpool love parade...
Mind you, I did get a slight feeling of Hansen's praises being somewhat through gritted teeth. If we didn't have Scholes or Giggs this season (and still did what we did) the media would be even more hateful of us than circa 98-02.

Champions League final: Sir Alex Ferguson earns place in managers' pantheon

Scarcely had the champagne and rain dried on Sir Alex Ferguson's suit at the Luzhniki Stadium when the debate began. As another trophy enhanced the Scot's already stellar reputation, as another managerial rival failed to keep pace, Ferguson returned from Moscow yesterday established as the greatest manager in British club history, ahead of Sir Matt Busby, Jock Stein, Bob Paisley and Brian Clough.

It is quite nice to regain the hated status again. When Chelsea were in their pomp, they were hated more and people actually wanted to see us win trophies again. Now that we have...

It's an unbelievable feeling. You really cannot put it into words. We're all going into the off-season knowing that our club is England Champions and European Champions. It such a satisfying feeling that we can a) rub that fact into Liverpool fan's faces, b) watch the Euro Championships with relative relaxation (for most of us, complete relaxation), and c) put that ********ing Nottingham Forest insult to bed.
I think about it everyday, I replay the match in my mind and I see Rio and Giggs hoisting big ears and the feeling is just so surreal. The pictures of the team and it's players with cup(s) are almost mythical... making me feel like I am dreaming. But I know it is true, I know we are European Champions!
