why/how can they keep on doing this?

Schuster: Ronaldo will end up at the Bernabeu

Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster believes Cristiano Ronaldo will play for the Spanish champions at some point in his career.

The Portuguese winger has been constantly linked with a move to the Primera Liga and Schuster is confident he will eventually grace the Bernabeu.

The German told Spanish television channel Noticias Cuatro: 'Sooner or later, Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the white shirt. I hope that it is when I am still at the club.'

Ronaldo was non-committal about his Old Trafford future after helping his side beat Chelsea in the Champions League final last night, despite missing a penalty in the shootout.

And Schuster, who led Real to a second straight Primera Liga crown this season, claims the Spanish side cannot afford to miss out on the free-scoring forward should he leave Manchester.

He added: 'If there is any chance of signing him, Real Madrid have to try it.'

I am going to Madrid. I am planning a hit. Anyone want to be my driver?

they are really one of the only clubs that specifically comes out and names players that are under contract to other teams. yet they are never reprimanded for it. i can guarantee that if United did this or any of the English clubs that UEFA and the powers-that-be would be cracking down on it.

i for one can envision a scenario where Ronaldo leaves us in the summer... i don't expect him to be with us until the end of his career though. i see him going the way of Beckham which was good business for us.

It does make me nervous. I wish this would just end with him saying I will be at United next season. If however this is over another 10,000 a week. Just give him it already.

If he's uncertain about his future then he can fu*k right off. Amazing player, best in the world some would say, but if he's not ready to fledge his future to United than he can bugger off.

It's all a ********ing ploy by the ********ing agent. He's not stupid, Madrid isn't exactly in a good place as a team imo even though they won the league, he knows he can go there anytime if he keeps playing well for the rest of his career, I would put money that the agent is putting it in Ronaldo's head to push for more money.

People forget that most agents take a percentage cut and not a flat rate from the people/players/artists they represent.

I personally hate that shit. But given the light that he mentioned "no no, I stay" during the ITV interview shows the truth. If he had any real plans of leaving there would have never been a slip of that nature.

Well tbh, I wish he'd do something about his agent then. Even Cesc Fabregas apparently fired his agent because he was constantly talking up a move to Spain, which Fabregas didn't want. At least tell the cnut to shut up and be happy with his 15 percent. FFS, you just got a new contract last year, he's probably one of the top 4 salaries at the club, just take it and get on with it!

I think he's top 4 salaries in the footballing world. Even if he wants more and that's what all this is about, he should go to the gaffer and go to the club officials and talk it over like a grown man. The club obviously value him and want to keep him happy, they don't need media intervention to do so.

I won't lie - it's infuriating to hear this nonsense keep going. Ronaldo can squash all this in a heartbeat, and go to Gill and co and deal with this like a man, rather than through the papers. He's f**king around with the fans that pay his salary, the club, etc and yet he could squash it like that.

Such a far cry from guys like Paul Scholes, who doesn't even have an agent, negotiates his own deals behind closed doors, and gets on with it.

^^ agree with all of you. This kind of crap just makes me sad even on the high I'm on with the double.

I'm not sad anymore. As everyone said, he could end the speculation in an instant, but he doesn't, because he doesn't want to, because he eventually wants to play in Spain. That's just a fact. He grew up as a boy wanting to play there and that's not going to change.

Anyway, like I said, I'm not sad because we're stacked to the ceiling with talent and we won't be as dependent on him in the near future for goals. Let's just enjoy whatever time we have with him in the team and hope we get a good price for him.

Well, to the fans who've been following United news and United player interviews over time and somewhat religiously, there's seems to be consensus that Ron won't leave. He has said time and time again that he loves it at the club, wants to win again with the lads, he's staying, etc.

It's a good point, however, to note that he could do his part to allay fans' fears. Those fans who see the odd newsbit here and there cannot help but be worried by the "Real says Ronaldo will be theirs" "Ron refuses to commit" etc. headlines.

So what's up? Well, he certainly wants a new bumper contract. It's another good point that he could just go to Gill/SAF towards this end. But, the marketplace works by supply/demand. Ron will ultimately get a more favorable new deal with United from this route than by doing a Scholes. Why bother with all this considering that it pisses off fans and diminishes respect given him as a person? Well, maybe he doesn't care as much that he's respected for discretion. The flash, the bling.

That's what I think, anyways.

Ronaldo stated he isn't going anywhere many times.

Yeah, and then 20 seconds later he says "I won't promise anything, I won't promise my club, my mum, let's wait 2 weeks."

What the fook is that? What is this 2 weeks nonsense? This shit is 3/4 Ronaldo's creation, and it's giving Madrid some idea that they can sign him this summer. It's almost as bad as the world cup summer. This shit is absolutely nonsensical!

At this point, I'm worried that Gill acts like an idiot and sells him for pennies on the dollar like we did Beckham - we better fleece the F****k out of whoever we sell him to.

i just can't imagine a scenario this summer where United - after winning the double and essentially reclaiming our perch on the top of the footballing world - would sell their most prolific player that has yet come into the prime of his career.

there is all the talk that Real will go around the backs and straight to the Glazers but even they - more than anyone - realizes what they have in Ronaldo.

plus you have all the players that are close to Ronaldo are going to be in his ear. there is no way he leaves. i just could not imagine it.

I was listening to an interview today on talkSport with Paul Breen Turner, an Englishman living in Spain who does the English language commentary for a lot of La Liga matches on, among others, Gol TV. He basically said what I've highlighted above -- that someone in the Real organization does have a direct contact established through a prior business dealing and may very well be using it to work out a deal for Ronaldo. PBT compared it to the Beckham situation, when United said repeatedly Becks was not for sale and before you knew it, he was on his way to Real.

As always... don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.

yeah but at that time it was right to sell Beckham. i didn't like to see him go but it was time. he was larger - or getting larger - than United. but that was a different time in the club.

if that silliness would ever happen where the Glazers would choose to sell their biggest asset SAF would walk and most of the players or would be out as soon as they could be. it would be the downfall of the club.

right now this is just selling papers. everything thought Ronaldo was gone after the WC and look what happened.

he won't be sold - bottom line.

I cannot see him going anywhere this summer. I also believe you guys are making this into a bigger deal then it actually is. I very much doubt he wants more money this badly.
