Schalke sold Emile Mpenza, one of the shooting stars from two seasons ago. During the last two years he was often injured and could seldom recall the shape of the former days. He is returning to his former club Standard Liege for about 2 M - in 1999 Schalke paid 8 M for him.

Rumours say that Schalke might use this money to convince Fernando Morientes to come to Germany. Real and Schalke agreed on a transfer, but Morientes hesitated.

I would like to see Morientes in the Bundesliga.

I wouldn`t be surprised if he would do as bad as Makaay.

Morientes got a loan deal to Monaco. He prefers the casinos.

Now Schalke chases Pasching's Edi Glieder

Schalke indeed loaned Edi Glieder. I wonder how a prospect like Mike Hanke feels after putting a 34 year old Austrian ahead of him – I mean, signing someone like Morientes, who would be an improvement for the team could be understood, but some grandpa like Glieder!?!?!?
