Thanks, Matt. It's great seeing these young kids out there wearing DC's colors. It will be terrific to see some of these kids with the first team, once they're ready!

Great pics as always Matt. Did we get a win there, looks like we got a goal.

Great pics as always Matt. Did we get a win there, looks like we got a goal.

We got draws in both the U-16 and U-18 matches. We went down a goal early in both matches and came back late to draw after long periods of sustained pressure. For the U-18s, we had to come back twice and left the tying goal until the last couple of min.

Because I was getting generic action shots and 'portraits' I spent less time on the actual story line of the game, so there are fewer (or zero ?) shots of goals, celebrations, etc.

It's been a while since I've watched youth teams play. These guys are good, to steal the marketing line. They're drilled and trained like pros. They're treated like them too, in terms of how they're addressed by coaches and what expectations are laid on their shoulders. I saw some very talented young players and at least a couple stood out from all the rest mostly for their composure in the midst of the chaos.

:)

I saw, at the very least, a willingness to send in crosses from the wings.

Can't wait to see the pictures of the U-18 team. There's a kid I know through my sister who plays for them...

I already have some pix of the game they played on 5/8. Look for the thread on BigSoccer. PM me if you can't find it.

Not sure. I think they have something to do with goals (and I'm not too sure what those are either, to tell the truth.)
