Congrats to MAN U and to Nicky.
I hate shoot-outs and that was no way to decide the better team though.
It was crazy to think that if john terry wouldn't have slipped and missed that
penalty Chelsea would have taken it.
Blah Blah...Man U deserved it, Congrats....

ON a much different note.
I had some terrible things to say about the Man U Fans at nevadas and
on 3rd Ave after the game.
Wyatt can attest to some of this....
1. The Chelsea fans got sprayed with beer randomly by Man U fans, during
the entire game. I got a my face splatter before they even won the game.
2. I almost got beat up trying to leave the bathroom area and get back to my wife. As i was walking through the hordes of dancing fans.....i got slapped in the face by a guy twice in a row with his jacket..his zipper caught my forehead both times...then as i was holding my face, he tried to ram his knee into my groin. All while celebrating THEM winning the game.....THEY WON THE GAME!!!...then when i turned to the guy to ask why he just to attack me, he tried to act like i was starting a fight with im and he came after me. Luckly his retard friends held him back.
3. After i left nevadas, walking to the subway, random Man U fans were giving us sh*t. Instead of celebrating their victory, they chose the low road and yelled at us trying to go home.
three kids in a BMW, (obviously little f*ck heads from suburbia in brand new Man U shirts) pull up on 12th street and start yelling at me from the windows, (i got that last laugh because i punched the side of his BMW as he sped off).

I know this is a small contigent of people...but i've never been around so many beligerent, arrogant fans before.
It's one thing to be happy about winning the Cup...it's another to denigrate and belittle your opposition.
Show some fcuking respect...
i'll be taking a hiatus from Nevadas for a bit....
the staff there did nothing about what went on in there....
as most of the fights were started because of beer throwing at our section.

sorry...rant over...
I'm not having a go at your team Nicky...
just the fans that accosted me today.

I went to Tigins in Stamford. The place was packed with Man U fans. It was hard to get a view of the tv. So I let out a fart that was something fierce. The Man u fans scattered like cockroaches when you turn the light on. After that, I had a clear line of sight to the tv and not one man u fan in the place came near me.

Penalty kicks is no way to lose a match - Brandon - it was not the prettiest of matches but Chelsea was a very deserving opponent. Sorry about your troubles.

Wyatt - props for coming in and shaking hands

Bar none was totally different - when united won the united fans went nuts - body surfing and all - but no fights - i shook hands with chelsea fans but most of all sung sung sung - then went to nevadas - sang for a few hours - got home a bit ago

Needless to say I just watched the replay of the penalty kicks and the celebration as I DVRd it and im sure im going to watch it again before i go to sleep.

Hung out with some dude and his girl, the girl was from Manchester and she said "this was the greatest night of her life" - I still have my loyalties to the 99 club but this one was very special and im happy as a pig in SHHHHH!!

Champione Champione!!!

When I posted this above I meant it. Celtic & United have close ties. Tommy Burns never even played for United. But some United fans made a Rest In Peace banner for Tommy. I'll always remember that ,thanks to the Mancs.

Celtic & United

Brandon , I'm sorry that . Wish you weren't with your wife, so you could've slapped the feck outta that punk. A#@holes

Yes - and those Celts and United Supporters will celebrate again today!

FUnny story - Kat met us for the second half - we went to nevadas and we were singing and dancing and all that - we were hanging out all game with some people - two of which were from Manc - one of the guys went to kat - i gotta say - im impressed - how do you know all these songs - her response was - Have you met Nick -

About the fans of bar none - while it was a non hostile crowd which i applaud both fans for that - i have to say - there are times i feel inadequate when speaking footie to someone from accross the pond - yesterday 3 or 4 of them said you are the man! There were so many fans - United fans that didnt know the songs - and the Chelsea fans - sorry Brandon - i didnt hear one song from them - not even Carefree!!!

Did you get the sense they were american or english or both? As I have said before, I always had my suspicions about nevada's as a man u bar. Fine. But that behavior, and the bar tolerating that behavior, is inexcusable.

I'm not crossing nevada's off my list because they are important to the business of the borough boys, but for me, if their comes a time we don't need their help, I'll be through with them. Honestly. I hate that shit.

Its kind of ironic, I asked Jack at the last meeting about having all of those English clubs in the same place. I mean at one time you had what 4 London clubs in the same place ? That's just fecking crazy. And another rule in this area. Certain English teams will have more supporters because of an Irish connection. Man U, Liverpool & Arsenal being the top 3 clubs in that respect The NY Blues should find another place. Shite the Spurs fans moved to Crooklyn

Honestly...it was mostly American fans...
the new fans that want to be part of the "crazy" aspect
of being a soccer fans and show no respect for anyone else.
Alot of new fans. The guy that practically jumped me was a
very large american.
All the English fans shook my hand and offered condolenses.

I honestly only notice this when we play MAN U..and that might
be because they're are so many of them.
We were outnumbered 5-1...and truth be told...we were singing just
as loudly as they were.

But they (the staff) had to know things were going to get crazy at this game and they were very ill-prepared. Especially after we kept getting beer thrown at us. The Chelsea fans obviously wanted to fight.... and there was almost 3 fights right in front of me.
There was even some douchebag with a Chelsea Headhunters shirt on who was starting sh*t too. (he was english)

I have never had any problems losing to Arsenal, or Liverpool fans before.
Too me...it's just the Sheer number of Man U fans that lead to this type of beheavior.

I knew it would be mostly Americans, a@#holes. Like I said, its time for the other English clubs to look for another place to watch games. That place is a Man U bar. Thats why the Liverpool supporters have a club elsewhere. Too much trouble

You know, thats another thing, why didn't they have "some crowd segregation " ? Chelsea fans downstairs. Mancs upstairs ? And how about getting a few large boys to work the bar ?

you said it best Brandon - to many new fans - to many United supporters who dont know who Edwards, Best, Law, Charlton, Cantona or even who Peter Schmeichal are! They are just there to say they are United fans - and i hate that!

Sounds like I found the best place in the area to watch the match .. After spending the first half at a way too crowded Bar None .. I met up with my boy Tom (AKITA) and went over to Cheap Shots to watch the match .. Can't complain about a bar that wasn't packed drinking $ 7 Pitchers ..

I know this is a joke, but you know what? If you grew up with this shit and the animosities and violence, you're not excused but being a dick is at least more understandable. But newbie americans are doing it for some reason other than passion and commitment. They're just anglophile pretenders and wannabes, which is just more pathetic.

PS and I'm sorry Nick, but Man U just seems to attract that type over here more than other clubs.

KingsCountyFC
22 May 2008, 03:30 PM
i think that has to do with how winning of a team they are...
and how recognizable the brand is here in the states.
If you ask anyone to name a team....they will usually know
Man U. Which is fine....
I don't think this problem is about Man U....
i think it's the negative aspects of the game that newbie americans
are coming to the game for.
I think we need to be a positive influence on this and new soccer fans
as "borough boys" to show that violence in soccer is not cool, or fun...
it's not wanted here in the states...and
we need to be very vocal about this.

There is nothing more pathetic than this. I would rather say I'm American that follows ManU than act like a wanna be.
