Ferguson in talks with Blackburn

Barry Ferguson is in talks with Blackburn after Rangers accepted Rovers' third bid for him.

The Scotland international midfielder will have a medical at Blackburn about a £7.5 million move to Ewood Park.

Everton were also interested in Ferguson but it is thought they were unable to offer more than £6 million for the 25-year-old.

Rovers chief executive John Williams told the BBC: 'We hope to discuss personal terms with Barry Ferguson on Friday.

'At this stage, the agreement is only a verbal one with the club, but that's only because representatives from Rangers have been in Monaco for the Champions League draw.'

Ferguson, who has revealed he wants to leave Rangers, is expected to sign a five-year deal at Ewood Park, worth around £30,000 a week.

At last, it all concludes. Hopefully he'll kick ass in the EPL, although not literally, as he'll get sent off like Andy Todd when he kicked Dugarry's ass last season. Still haven't seen that clip.

I am very happy about this. I think we can sign him quickly so he can join the squad ASAP. The only thing that sucks about this is that he is cup-tied so I don't think he can play for us in the UEFA Cup this year, in which we are playing some Turkish team with a weird name in the first round.

Terrific piece of transfer work by Souness and the Rovers.
