Should be a free flowing attacking game.

Should be a free flowing attacking game.

Agreed. I have a feeling that this game is going to be high scoring..

Turkey has a very weak defence, and play open attacking soccer. This plays right into our hands as our defence is as good as any in the tournement, able to contain alot of pressure and defend with maturity and calm when all are fully fit..although Nihat and Tuncay are better strikers then any we have.. Emre Basturk and Aurelio are also quality on their day, but our defense is far better then theres.

The open space in midfield and the open flow of the game will perfectly suit Ronaldo/Quaresma/Simao/Nani/Deco/Miguel/Bosginwa and with Velosos superb passing range and technical skill our speed on the counter attack through the wings could be used as a iron fist...unless Nuno gomes is playing in which he slows down everything:(

I hope to see this lineup:

-----------Ricardo-----------
-----Carvalho---Pepe--------
Miguel----------------Bosginwa
-------Veloso---Moutinho-----
Quaresma---Deco-------Ronaldo
-----------Almeida-------------

I think that you are confused;

There is Emre Belezoglu from Newcastle United and there is Yildiray Basturk from Stuttgart... They are both central/attacking midfielders... When they are in good form they do real damage but they are both inconsistent players.

But you are absouletly right about our defence, it sucks...

And we have injury problems... Couple of defenders but more importantly right midfield/winger Hamit Altintop from Bayern Munich. He definitely will not play against Portugal, maybe in the quarter final if we advance...

But we have a solid midfield and a good forwards, if somehow we can solve our problems at defence we can really be a surprising team in this tournament

I agree on Quaresma instead of Simao. How come not Nani as forward?

I'm getting pumped, this game is not going to be an easy one. None ever are in the Euro and this game will set the tone for the rest of the Tournament for Portugal.

I agree that this will be a difficult game for Portugal and for that matter Turkiye. You will observe two of the most technically talented teams going at it at the midfiled. Whoever wins that battle will edge the other by a goal.
The Turks will try to press hard up front to overcome their defensive woes. If they can manage that, they will become the victors as they can definitely score. They have more youth on this team than before but they are gelling as a unit at the right time and are highly motivated.
Final outcome: Turkiye 2-Portugal 1.

I'm gunna say 2-0, Portugal. Turkey have a good midfield, and a good attack, but their defense is lacking, and our attack will surely expose it, while on the contrary, we have a very good defense that will more than handle Nihat and co.

Portugal may have the best back line in the tournament. Somebody let me know who has more quality and more depth than a squad that lists the following defensive players: Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira, Bosingwa, Pepe, Miguel, Fernando Meira, Bruno Alves, and (I'll conveniently leave off Maniche's brother). That's not a bad group though right there.

Well Paulo Ferriera isnt exactly class...and bruno alves is a bit clumsy and slow..our new fernando couto..

but the back four of:

Miguel----Pepe----Carvalho----Bosginwa

with meira as sub is superb..although we know scolari wont put one of miguel/bosginwa at leftback..

shame jorge Andrade is injured, and antunes from Roma wasnt called:(..our defence would have been perfect with those two replacing bruno alves and maniches younger crappy brother.

France possibly........ but your right.

FRA: Abidal, Gallas, Evra, Sagna, Sagnol, Makelele, Flamini, Vieira, etc.

Expect a game with many goals here 2-1 | 3-2 for correct scores but don't be surprised for a 3-0 or 4-0. Indeed Turkey suffers on the defense and Portugal has better form offensively.

it will b a prety offensive game but with the offense that Portugal has we should beat Turkey. Turkeys back cant stand up 2 our offensive power.
