Yeah Portugal - Holland in the WC. The Ref was an idiot though.
D'yer think so? I thought he did OK in impossible circumstances. The thing is the players have to take some responsibility as well.

I'll tell you one thing... the ref's going to have his work cut out refereeing this lot!!!

Wasn't it a match between Portugal and someone else in the WC where they had about 25 YC's and 5 RC's?

Holland versus Portugal, and I've rewatched it numerous times, and say, Portugal were more of the good guys in that match.

This is the first game, who ever loses will probably remain good sports, but later on, when teams are being eliminated and stuff, things could get a bit heated.

Holland also had a rather ugly game with Albania imho. But I'm not knocking anyone because everyone or nearly everyone does it some.

Good sports attitude so far, and the kicking the ball out of bounds when the Turk went down...and I think the favor returned.

Portugal's a good sporting team but I'm a bit sceptical on some tactics Scolari might have.

Yeah I really think it was Scolaris idea to use Ronaldo to get at Rooney, but Rooney should've known better.

Turkey just seem to be holding on at the moment. They're defending well though, put some vital blocks in!

Yeah, you could be right. The dutch are well known for being able to start an argument in an empty room :D

Yeah, again, Good shout.

I've always liked big phil... didn't he chin some fella on the touchline a while back??? Great stuff :D

Oh no, not this again - when you both have on Man U shirts then you do everything in your power to help your Man U teammate; when you have your country's jersey on, you do everything in your power for your country...club is second thought. The Ronaldo "blame" for that is silly.

Ronaldo went down in what? The first 5 or 10 minutes of the game, this game versus Turkey and that appeared like a severe challenge.

But my conclusion in watching the Holland game, is maybe Holland did try to get at Ronaldo and Cristiano does go out in that game and come back versus France.

Sometimes, at this level too, the other teams, some other teams will pull tricks themselves, so the other team has to think about what they can do.

He reminds you of your long time love Brian Clough!

Dead on about the dutch just look at Johan Neeskens, who surfs the board for anything anti Dutch, from FFA to the England forums!

Ronaldo off the post. Great strike. Very very unlucky, Turkey on the break.

EDIT: In slow mo a very good finger tip save by the keeper, that ball was really traveling, and the bounce made it extra difficult to judge.

Ronaldo hits the post on a FK 30 yards out.

That Ronaldo free kick was so close!

Edited to add: Just seen from the replay that it was actually a goalkeeper save. so it could have gone in.

Wow that was a great save.

I tend to think the commentators are going to give ronaldo a blowjob at halftime the way they're sucking up to him. 'The keeper knew nothing about the FK there and was nowhere near it' we're reliably informed.

Uh huh!

Turkeys keeper is high quality.
He single handedly stopped Chelsea in Istanbul for Fenerbahce afew months back.
I can see this being 1-0 or 0-0 .Portugal will sneak a goal from a set piece or turkeys keeper will have a blinder of a game.
