Portugal played very good, but i think it was made easier by the awful game the turks made. i would say the weakest point in the turks team was the attack not the defense. they never threatened the Portugal defense and practicly invited the portugese to attack.
i look forward to the Switzerland - Turkey game. it's game with a lot of tension and the outcome will probably decide who leaves the competition.

Been there done that. See my previous post. He over reacts. It hurts, but as well all know divers are Oscar winners.
Just to note when your shin bone does break it doesn't hurt initially. However, it does when you try to get back up.
Stfu already. It was a bad challenge. Leave it at that.

Great game. More of those please :)
This is what I love about the euros - getting to see guys like Deco and Ronaldo together
AND then they actually played attacking football
If only Portugal had a number 9.

Portugal have a goal disallowed, hit the woodwork three times and still win by two goals. They are looking very strong. The main complaints people have in relation to Portugal is their defense and lack of a striker. This defense is much stronger than the one they had last time around and Gomes was a tad unfortunate today. As for Ronaldo, he hit forced a great save out of the keeper /post from the freekick, set up Gomes for the one that hit the bar and then played a huge part in the move for the second goal. He played a good team game today.
I'd add that Deco looks in great form again. When Ronaldo switched wide left and Deco went wide right in the first half they caused havoc.
Portugal was good, but not superior. They still lack a target man, and won't make it past the next round.

We did a good game and if we had scored early in the game probably it would be easier since the Turks would had to attack and give more spaces.
We played like a team for the first time i can remember since like 2006 or something, that and our physical condition could inspire us to do a great tournament.
The main problem is the same as usual, scoring goals...probably we should trade one of our wingers(Quaresma didnīt even played!) for a striker

Disagree. They went deep in the world cup despite having a crap 9.
IMO they are good enough to get by without one. If they had a Torres, or even a Saha :D, they;d be unstoppable IMO
I seriously believe they would have won WC06 with a proper 9
No, they wouldn't have won the WC. They lose at home to Greece and they would have won the WC??? LOL Let's not forget the thrashing they got against Germany for 3rd place. Portugal has skill, but I don't see the hunger in their eyes.
Turkey are just horrendous on defense. Portugal should basically field all midfielders, because their FWs are non-existent.
Well, I transfered Quaresma and Nani for Deco and Moutinho, who was very impressive. Ronaldo was average to good, but the 14 price tag is ridiculous. Pepe was the best fantasy player today.

Portugal looked good. They probably could have scored more. Moutinho and Bosingwa impressed me the most.
I was disappointed in Turkey. I thought their attacking players would have been better. There were times where they didn't belong on the same pitch.

Meaningless game.
The fact is that they made the euro final and the wc semis

That is what shin pads are for. He is still a cry baby fro watching him play in the EPL. It would have been worse if the defender was coming from the other direction.
Have you ever seen the actual size of shin pads? His leg was bleeding from the studs FFS

Edit : Sorry I thought this was the MMA Euro 2008 Disregard my post above.
FYP.

They would have done a lot better in WC02, too. But that's one of the things that makes the international game interesting - they can't just sell a midfielder and defender to buy a forward, and have to figure out a way to compete with what they have.
I thought it was a very impressive performance against a decent Turkish team who would have been satisfied with 0-0.

How did we not win 4/5-0 at least?
A much better performance then I ever expected. WE havent played this good in atleast a entire year.
Moutinho was simply fantastic, I had my doubts about him..and i dont want to get carried away so I still do deep down, but he was superb. Not only did he show grest vision and skill controlling in tight spaces and jinxing by players, but his engine was tireless and hardworking, and he made some great tackles.
I knew he was a hardworker, but the way he battled and muscled and out positioned the much bigger Turkish players off him was very suprising..his passing was fantastic as well.
Pepe and moutinho motm I think.

Portugal look a bit too similar to how they did in the WC 06 and Euro 04. Same strengths in attacking midfield, but still the same weakness at forward and they let the other team create chances a bit too much still. Will be very interesting to see how they do against Germany or Croatia, should be able to beat both in this form though imo then it's a case of keeping their discipline in the final and finishing their chances when they come.
Turkey did as well as they could I thought, kept patient and organised but just lacking that bit of quality up front to trouble Portugal. I'd back them against the Czechs and Swiss though.
