he's better than any of the usual U.S. commentators. His pronunciation of the Swiss names is surprisingly good. The U.S. guys would probably call Magnin "MAG Nine" or something.

Oh, no. I think he's doing a good job. Just a couple times I noticed he could have responded with a little more levity to Smyth. :)

So far so good. Mised the beginning, but not much happened in the first 25, so...

Definitely.

a massive blow to Switzerland. But we should get to see Vonlanthen now, right?

You could tell after that replay that there was serious contact on that foul. Frei's knee moved in an unnatural direction and just as that was happening, Tommy Smyth was saying how there was no contact.

Great we get to listen to Julie Foudy blabber on....

why doesn't she gets those warts on her face removed? She'd be pretty hot otherwise...

actually if Frei has to leave the Swiss might be screwed. He's been one of the best players on the pitch.

Behrami and Sionko have stood out for me.

Frei is their main man though. I don't know how they are going to score now, and him going off will give the Czechs a massive lift.

Vonlanthen will probably be on for him.

looking at this Czech team it looks like the weakest team for the Czechs in years, I'd say there in a transition period.

heres hoping Slovakia and the Czechs reform, that would be a real powerhouse.

Man, you gotta feel for Frei if he's out of it.

probably his lifetime dream to play in a tournament on home turf.

I think it may be Derdiyok actually.

they definitely miss Rosicky. With him it'd be a different team. And a different game.

Tommy Smyth was saying how there was no contact.

Tommy is the only man in the world who can watch a slow motion replay and say it was something else. Thank god TSN doesn't have the ESPN feed for these game.

As for the game it has been decent. I think a goal would really open things up but I can see this 0-0

Eren Derdiyok will come in eventually and he's quite impressive.

oh man they're bringing Yakin? I don't like this. I wanted to see Vonlanthen...

Awful for Frei. Out of a once, maybe twice, opportunity of a lifetime in under 1 hour!

Weird. At first glance I thought he went down pretty easily, but said nothing. It's why I hate accusations of diving (without ironclad evidence).

And he actually has the football knowledge unlike any other US commentators.

Here's hoping Yakin shows up.

Behrami still looking energetic at the start of the second half, too.
