Not to defend Greece, because they most likely don't deserve it, but they did make Cristiano Ronaldo cry 4 years ago.

That's gotta be worth something . . . .

If I had a World Cup for every time Cristiano Ronaldo cried, I'd have a contract-for-life with Pepsi. =D

Ronaldo cried at the Euro thats one...he never cried at the WC.

Now Beckham, Terry, Lampaard and Gerrard are players I have seen cry many many a time. Twice to Portugal no less and in Terry and Lampaard's case 3 times to Cristiano Ronaldo's joy.

I think Terry's CL sobs may be the most ginormous blubberriffic heaving I've ever seen on a football pitch.

And honestly this is not a "girly-man" diss -- I rate Terry quite highly. It's just an objective rating of his level of physical weeping.

Ironically, Sammy Kuffour in the last ManU CL victory is the other player that comes to mind. But I mostly remember him pounding his fist into the ground in despair and not actually weeping.

My memory might be foggy, but I'm pretty sure I remember him crying in the Por-Ned game at the WC, when he was being subbed out in the first half due to a [deliberate] injury.

Second goal, Elmander-Hansson, a defender's goal, left knee-right knee, pure Ligue 1 style. Perfect tactical action, high level technical skill.

It reminds me of that simpsons episode where they wouldn't move the ball forward.

Haha, this is exactly what I thought when I saw Greece passing the ball around on their own pitch in a three man formation. I mean really, not saying this after reading your post, this Simpson episode popped into my head during the game.

It wasn't a beautiful game by Sweden but I don't think they could've played it any better. I am glad they didn't go on a full-force attack and try to play "joga bonito" (remember 2004)

They attacked and tried to play football but also tried to lock down any counter-attacks. I think Greece was too focused on the opposite team making a mistake and they wanted to go on a counter rather than trying to establish their own game and set up constructive attacks. It worked in 2004 but the element of surprise is gone this time around.

If you are a fan of the game you were rooting for Sweden to slaughter the Greeks. You will also be pulling for Spain & Russia to do the exact same to that sorry excuse for football.

NO .....C. Ronaldo just looks like he is always pouting ...even when not crying.

he didn't listen to his mother that your face will stay that way if you don't stop crying as a child.

Just finished watching the game - I've had enough of Greece for a lifetime - football is a game that needs to be played. Three defenders passing the ball around time and time again was one of the most pathetic, cowardly displays I ever saw - I hope Russians and Spaniards kick them around as well.
Fantastic goal by Ibrahimovic...he's a player who's a class above the others on the field and the goal showed it.
GREECE SUCKS!!!

God bless Ibra haha, I remember the 2006 world cup (stayed in Tokyo throughout the tourney) and among the mixed nationalities, everyone seemed to be an Ibra supporter (particurlarly the Americans with their caps turned backwards), a ************ tournament he had but it's the 2nd coming now after a season of being commander in chief for Inter.

Lord knows that every Swede is praying for Ibra having a great tourney. It's now or never.

Only shame is that Sweden didn't score sooner. Jesus christ, I was getting way annoyed with all the passing back and forth in Greece's defence. Was honestly the most boring game until Sweden forced Greece to start playing.

Greece what a stinker! Sweden did well though, better teams failed to score against them.

Correct he did, but he thought he was done for the WC with that injury.
