How can Roma afford him? They couldn't even hold on to Chivu.

Valencia striker John Carew has joined AS Roma on a one-year loan deal.
The Norwegian has spent three seasons at the Mestella, but never quite hit it off since his move from Rosenborg.
He scored the winner against Roma in the Champions League when the two teams met at the Stadio Olimpico last season.

New AS Roma signing John Carew is relishing his new adventure in Serie A.
"This is the chance of my life," he said. "Roma are a great club and give me the opportunity to play in the most difficult and competitive league of the world. I can only improve. After the Valencia experience, Roma represent a step forward in my career. It's my chance and I'll do everything to grab it. Totti? I'll have fun with him."
