Get sick soon! ;)

Sounds like I missed one hell of a game too...

And you just know France/Holland is going to be epic, just to spite me... :D

Oh well, glad to hear that the tournament is coming out of it's early doldrums.

Are they going to schedule Romania/Netherlands and Italy/France at the same time?

Because if they show the morning game of Romania/Holland and Romania wins then what the hell is the point in watching the other game?

With the way the things are going, I don't see any chance for azzurri or blues to be the second after the dutch.

I don't see how we could even get a point on the Dutch. Things are looking bad for all three.

By the Dutch giving it to you.:p I don't think they will, but we'll know if by the 80th minute we're not down by a minimum of three goals.

Exactly... I just hope in the sportivity of a man (that I personally really like): Van Basten. He likes Italy, so maybe he could not did us this injustice.

Like I said in the other thread. I actually think Romania are better managing a result than Italy or France are right now. So if Romania pulls off a tie or even pulls a victory it still won't mean Netherlands tanked. Though as I enjoy surprises I won't mind even if they did. :D

I've said this before in another thread. There's no way we will give away the game against Romania.

Will we rest some players? Yes. But a reporter said to several players and the coach : So now you can take it slow against Romania to regain some strength. Every single one of them answered : Sure we could, but we want to win it all, every game.

And FNU, if that means we will meet Italy again later on so be it. To be the best you will have to beat the rest.

Holland will put up their best, while obviously resting players since the game does not matter for us anymore. However don't be so sure they will just let Romania win, Holland wants the full 9 points and aren't going to be lame to pick which countries are send home. Especially not after what happened 4 years ago when Holland was depending on the Czechs to defeat the Germans in order for the Dutch to go on in the tournament.

However if he choses to leave Van der Sar out that match it will be easier for Romania because our other 2 goalkeepers aren't nearly as good, if you would
put them in the goal together they would stop less balls than Van der Sar on his own.

How can you call yourself champion when you strategically allow a country to advance while sending home the ones that might be better? The champion should not be afraid of any country and be able to beat them all. I want to see our team give it their best against Romania.

Currently it looks like Romania will follow Holland to the next round (at least it's in their own hands) ... what would be a big suprise for many so-called "experts".

The World Champ and Vice-World Champ out at the group stage ... well, how would we call it? A sensation, upset or even disgrace?

and if germany were not so lucky to be facing austria in the last game in need of that draw, then we could have all 3 top pre tournament favourites out at the group stage

And that means ToonUSA, you are in for in for a severe drubbing!!!!!

I cant think of a Dutch team taking it more easy than on this Romanian squad, but I could be wrong!!

At this point, I'm hoping for the Dutch to be up 1-0 in the 80th minute or so, with Italy and France tied 0-0.

Both the Azzurri and Blues would know at that point that baring two goals scored by one team in the other game, a game winner would put them through, while a draw would send them both home. It would be beautiful madness. No holds barred.
