So who's the favorite now, after today's games? :D

I think the Dutch will beat the French, and the Italians will beat the Romanians... Which would leave the table like this, heading into the last day:
Netherlands 6
Italy 3
France 1
Romania 1

France-Italy... talk about a massive game! :eek:
And yet, France could win and still be eliminated, if Romania win by enough goals against the already safe Dutch! :eek:

The Dutch will NOT beat the French. You think France didn't watch tonight's game? Romania on the other hand are in a tough position because if Italy plays with gaul and grit, they're tough to beat. But, only if Donadonia changes the lineup because he fielded some of our worst form players in a formation that doesn't suit the players fielded. I think Romania will draw Italy. France will draw Holland. Meh, after today I just want Donadoni to be gone ASAP and look to a new generation for 2010.

I still think Italy will get out of the group. I was surprised to see Netherlands beat them I didn't believe Canavarro was so important to Italy as they usually have all star defenders no matter what but without him the middle of the back line was horrible.

This group isn't over yet I think there are going to be more twists before the final games.

I sort of like when Italy is in a must win position. They rarely disappoint ....especially during regular play and NOT PK's or golden goals.

We'll be able to tell Donadummy's motives with who he fields Friday.

Romania is going to be tricky, and they've got some players VERY familiar with our players.

I'll also be surprised if we don't see a ruthless France against Holland, with Ribery moved to the center and possibly a return by Henry. Holland shouldn't change a thing, but I feel they're going to be playing for a draw if the Italy/Romania game doesn't produce a winner. Should be great games.

It wasn't even about Cannavaro, it was Materazzi, Barzagli and Panucci stinking up the defense, along with that crap Milan mid. that finished 5th this year. Gattuso also seems tired/out of it. Shit hit the fan, but hopefully the fire is now lit under their asses.

And while Italy may not have as many great defenders to call upon (damn you Nesta) as we usually do, Donadoni refused to field the two best defenders in Serie A and chose instead Barzagli (whose club team concedes an average of 3 goals a game) and Materazzi ( 'nuff said).

Good display by the Netherlands, but Donadoni was MOTM for the Dutch. And anyone who expects such a leaky defense in the next couple of games is deluding himself, as wholesale changes will be made and I'm fairly positive that we'll see the World Champs near their best against Romania. Cassano for man of that match... any takers? :D

before the group started Italy, France and Holland laughed at Romania...what a pathetic team they said.

after the first game the dutch and italians laughed at the french. you couldn't beat that pathetic, small team.

after the second game the dutch will laugh at the italians who will go home and they will be certain they will score 8 goals against Romania

after the last match only Romania will laugh :)

well at least i hope we'll laugh. if not we can always drink some beer to drown our sorrow. :D

Believe me, if Raymond hadn't been worry he wouldn't have set such a defensive team. But that's our problem : too much respect, where we should have tread on Romania.

well in the french press there was an avalanche of critics. i mean it was like France drew 0-0 with Malta not with a powerful team. the italian press thinks Italy will almost certainly beat with 3-0. and the dutch think that if they scored 3 to the italians they can score 4-5 against the romanians. i just stated what most people think about us even if some may say: "yes you are a good team".

anyway i'm just doing conversation :) even if some of you guys are arogant it's ok. after all this is a sport not a war and we are all intitled to make predictions and hope for our teams. and if after the match if Romania loses congratulations. we'll have another conversation after the match where i will probably find ridiculous excuses for my team, but most of all i'll drink beer :D

yeah you're probably right, the scandal press always exagerates the players statements. anyway i never mentioned that this kind of atitude was found here on BS.

yeah i realise that. but you know what would really be weird? Romania could qualify with 2 points and not a shot on goal. how? well Holland-France 2-0; Romania-Italy 0-0; Holland-Romania 1-0; France-Italy 0-0

1) Holland 9 points (+6 goal difference)
2) Romania 2 (-1)
3) France 2 (-2)
4) Italy 2 (-3)

though i must admit i wouldn't be proud of such a performance.

i never said anything about BS posters. i was talking about betting forums and newspapers. and actually i like these cocky discussions before matches. they are part of the game and sometimes funny :)
